Xiaoyiyi8 Also, if i remember correctly, it took me nearly a month until I had a comment that said that they appreciate my works... So, just have patience and don't worry too much yet. You're building up your story as of the moment and just see it as though ur sculpting a human statue. At first, its just a block of material and no one would notice it yet. But as you keep working on it, the legs with appear and people will start noticing and be curious as to what you are shaping to the point that when the body appears, they'll stay long enough in order to see you finish it
Fellow Authors Talk!!! (FREE PIZZA)
So_mi I just finished one chapter and bored, so I went to the forum. Then I saw pizza, so I click
OMG hahaha how nice to find someone with same intention
I tried to posted on the shameless promotion before, but I deleted it. It made me nervous hahaha.
Thanks for the advice! I think I will keep writing, because I feel happy when writing! It's like, I raised my own child when writing
Also, here's your pizza guyssss
@GabrielDetchans
@Lord_of_sleep
(+1 pizza for @Xiaoyiyi8 for replying ) HAHAHAHHAHA

Ooooh pizza. Really came here for the free pizza. Haha.
Anyway, just having one comment on a chapter really pushes me to write. Whether it be criticism or nonsensical. I just want to know that someone's reading my work regardless of the collections.
I started writing when I cannot find any books. Everything looks the same. And then 'last year' i saw this really good book, some chapters later it turned to be a disappointment. Still kept on reading it though.
Daenir i swear sometimes i dont even trust the collections and views... I used to be happy when i had 10 but then, i had no comments which made me feel bummed out at first. Like, the numbers may be rising, but its not fulfilling if u dont get any feedback from it. It's like your trying to converse to people who just wants to listen and it ends up being a one sided conversation
So, im just curious at the authors here in webnovel.... Did you guys tell anyone in real life about your book?
Because i find it so embarrassing to show them my work.
That's because....
First of all, I don't trust those demons in giving proper feedback.
And second, to show them is like being naked in front of them... IT'S SO UNCOMFORTABLE AND EMBARRASSING
That's exactly how i felt. Lol. Villains and some shrimps are often dumb af in most novels that I read. So I made a novel where all the characters uses their brains.
Imma share another one
There was this time when I want to publish my own book and the title was already taken and was only a minute too late Now it wasnt even updating after chapter 5. And i'm like: srsly bruv, how dare u take my title and not update.
Daenir Ugh yeah. Brainless idiots in novels. The greatest frustration next to horror movies that makes the main leads 'split up.' In my book tho, i do the brainless idiot because its the most logical effect of being in a different world. But in some novels... (esp those servants behind the evil ppl) they know exactly the consequences but jesus they are shameless and stupid to follow the evil ppl
So_mi
That is so me, when I was starting to write my novel. Im like "oooh. 15 collections hahahaha".
Then there was this time that I put in the authors note : Can anyone comment anything, like exp or something. Hahaha.
But what hurts me the most was watching the collections whittling down. Haha
And thanks for the pizza
Daenir It truly hurts at first to see the collections going down. It made me think, "awww... Do they not like it?" But then, ynow, other people might not rlly like what ur writing cuz maybe they have their own preference and we just gotta live with that. Same in real life. Not everyone's going to like you. And ynow, what i realized was that, it eill actually hurt less if we focus less on the numbers but more on the reason why we are doing this. We want to tell a story. Not many are brave enough to read, but there will be people who "will" read. And we just gotta dwell on the fact that, those people who actually read, truly appreciated it.
Shameless promotions should be the bread and butter of hungry begginners!
Xiaoyiyi8 I think you should start by reviewing your own work! Its recommended on the book of authors to do it, so who I am to say otherwise. Nevertheless, I understand how you feel! I will read your work and then comment on it, maybe do a review, if you want me to. But it may take a couple of days...
Lord_of_sleep I share that feeling too. Hours of work invested in a carefully made chapter and when it fails to get the response I expected can be depressing. But then I also may get a couple of comments in a chapter that did not considered to be valuable enough. So I guess it depends on the eye of the reader and his personal preferences?
So_mi I guess slang and proverbial phrases are problematic to everyone that is writing in a different language. I try my best to not delete anything but yes, once in awhile I have deleted a sentence or two because of that. its inevitable sometimes...
I often feel that I having the most basic grammar and spelling errors and other times I believe that my phrases are unnecessarily complicated and sophisticated. Sometimes both feelings happen at the same time.
I want people to comment the story and interact with me, and yet I am also afraid of complaints that my work not being good enough!
But since there are people telling me that they like the story and want more chapters, I try to do my best at writing. Also, the main character (the witch Zanthia) had been in my mind since I was twelve years old. And to be able to finally provide her with a home of her own, it feels wonderful!
So I agree, writing a novel is like raising your child. It will cost you and give you plenty of emotions but as long there are more good than bad, then it is worth it.
