Lord_of_sleep Well, i dont really feel underappreciated much because the readers (no matter how few) are very supportive (╥﹏╥) i mean, my standards are pretty low that as long as there is one comment, thats enough to make me write the next chapter... Though, i do get the same feeling sometimes but not because im 'underappreciated' but more like due to the fact that the works we make is hard to discover in webnovel due to the "cliche" stories... I mean some are good but its saddening at the fact that readers choose books that they already know the general plot of because they prefer a certain cliche plotline. And its maybe due to the fact that its a sort of a "comfort zone" for readers wherein you'll know what'll happen but you're trying to see if it actually happens... I used to be those kinds of readers too so i know how it felt (T▽T)
Fellow Authors Talk!!! (FREE PIZZA)
GabrielDetchans I have no idea how to use it at all.... My friend tried to teach me.... But i just can't process the information at all... Like, im like an old man trying to learn what an iphone is (◞‸◟)
GabrielDetchans alsooo, for me, I dont write 2k words per chapter because im downright lazy... If you tell me to write a 2k word essay.... Hell nah... I'd most probably procrastinate, or do it 'later' (which means never or until the last minute). So, what i do is I cut it down to either 900 or 1,000. And then, it sounds more appealing so i end up actually convincing myself to start to writing. And then words will suddenly flow out naturally that you wouldn't even notice that you've been writing 2k words already. And it would also sound less tiresome and less intimidating for me so I was able to keep it up for the long run (my book is about 115 chapters already) but i attend med school so i have struggles with updates nowadays
GabrielDetchans and wow, kudos to you with translating! That's really tiresome to do! And i totally get it as well because there are some words that I also have as sort of like a 'slang' but it cant be inserted because it doesnt have an english equivalent. (T_T) so, i end up trying to go in circles in order to portray it and then i go, f*** it and delete the whole word/convo/scene entirely because it ends up becoming weird.
I clicked because of pizza!!!
I kinda glad you opened this thread because I wanted to talk but I don't know where I can talk.
I joined WN recently because I wanted to read a novel here but I started writing after I didn't find the book that I want to read.
I feel down, when I saw no comment on my book. I mean, I want to have interaction with reader. And also want the constructive review. I want reader to enjoy the book just like how I enjoy the process writing my book. On other side, I feel so refreshed after writing. My mind is free from matters that happen.
Whoa! 1000 words already hard for me. 2000? That's cool!
Xiaoyiyi8 OMG WE HAVE THE SAME REASON i started writing because the female protagonists in this site are so refined that it made me want to write an unrefined, ruly, and boyish female mc
Also, don't worry about the comments for now... Just enjoy the process of writing and the comments will follow or if you're comfortable, you can advertise in some forums that encourages promotions. Thats how I was able to get my very first comment! There was a forum that had Shameless Promotions So i did just that hehe
Xiaoyiyi8 Also, if i remember correctly, it took me nearly a month until I had a comment that said that they appreciate my works... So, just have patience and don't worry too much yet. You're building up your story as of the moment and just see it as though ur sculpting a human statue. At first, its just a block of material and no one would notice it yet. But as you keep working on it, the legs with appear and people will start noticing and be curious as to what you are shaping to the point that when the body appears, they'll stay long enough in order to see you finish it
So_mi I just finished one chapter and bored, so I went to the forum. Then I saw pizza, so I click
OMG hahaha how nice to find someone with same intention
I tried to posted on the shameless promotion before, but I deleted it. It made me nervous hahaha.
Thanks for the advice! I think I will keep writing, because I feel happy when writing! It's like, I raised my own child when writing
Also, here's your pizza guyssss
@GabrielDetchans
@Lord_of_sleep
(+1 pizza for @Xiaoyiyi8 for replying ) HAHAHAHHAHA

Ooooh pizza. Really came here for the free pizza. Haha.
Anyway, just having one comment on a chapter really pushes me to write. Whether it be criticism or nonsensical. I just want to know that someone's reading my work regardless of the collections.
I started writing when I cannot find any books. Everything looks the same. And then 'last year' i saw this really good book, some chapters later it turned to be a disappointment. Still kept on reading it though.
Daenir i swear sometimes i dont even trust the collections and views... I used to be happy when i had 10 but then, i had no comments which made me feel bummed out at first. Like, the numbers may be rising, but its not fulfilling if u dont get any feedback from it. It's like your trying to converse to people who just wants to listen and it ends up being a one sided conversation
So, im just curious at the authors here in webnovel.... Did you guys tell anyone in real life about your book?
Because i find it so embarrassing to show them my work.
That's because....
First of all, I don't trust those demons in giving proper feedback.
And second, to show them is like being naked in front of them... IT'S SO UNCOMFORTABLE AND EMBARRASSING
That's exactly how i felt. Lol. Villains and some shrimps are often dumb af in most novels that I read. So I made a novel where all the characters uses their brains.
Imma share another one
There was this time when I want to publish my own book and the title was already taken and was only a minute too late Now it wasnt even updating after chapter 5. And i'm like: srsly bruv, how dare u take my title and not update.
Daenir Ugh yeah. Brainless idiots in novels. The greatest frustration next to horror movies that makes the main leads 'split up.' In my book tho, i do the brainless idiot because its the most logical effect of being in a different world. But in some novels... (esp those servants behind the evil ppl) they know exactly the consequences but jesus they are shameless and stupid to follow the evil ppl
