ok im too lazy to spot them all, i just drop the novel immediately when i notice it. it makes my blood boil reading Chi gathering state and fetus state and river styx ohhhh river styx.. never forget. here is a link on how to properly translate these. please translators! take 30 min of your day and study it.

      I can't keep up with a dozen different novels using different terms, atleast keep them up to the same standard. If the author themselves makes up some ranks then fine, go along with it and translate it as it is, but if it is a common rank across most cultivation novels just translate to the english version..... Afterall, Nascent Soul sounds a billion times better than Yuanying...... On this matter, call them pills or dans, make up your mind, I've read many novels where the translator uses both terms for pills, drives me insane.

        The senpai<senior one. The translator uses 'junior' instead of 'kouhai', so why not use 'senior' instead of 'senpai'? Why is one term in English & the other is Japanese? Where's the consistency?

        Positive_Lullaby Chakra is inner energy, its a cardinal term from Sanatana dharma(is a way of life not religion) and all of the derived religions from it like for example Buddhism or Jainism. SO its not meridian.

                GoGo At the same time though, in chinese novels, more often than not they mean to say meridians because that is more closely related to chinese culture. They are similar, but still completely different.

                    Jzrrztt_ BrokenLake I understand where you are coming from, even I don't have that much understanding of chakra energy that much, all my knowledge comes from the shows I used to watch as kid on television. But Meridian and Chakra are totally different things, qi=chakra is possible(but chakra has more varieties{in name only}, of can be called a collection different subgroups).

                    Jzrrztt_ It doesn't work that way, the definition of chakra was not much fleshed out besides it was the fuel for doing all sorts of crazy jutsu's in the anime or naruto universe, but after reading a bit about it recently(Cause of these novels) I found something much more different.
                    And in naruto they do get the point right with Chakra = energy, but here they are(the op) saying chakra = meridian which is mostly the nerve points that is responsible for the flow of chakra or energy.

                                  Pizza You will have to tell me which translators do that. There are more than a hundred books out there so I won't know who are the offending ones.
