Opinion about tagalog novels
Pablo_Escobar then ill check it
Pixiepercent yeah, i hope it wont happen here. I often read at wattpad specifically my highschool days but eventually, sh*t happens and ig became like that.
I agree. I prefer Tagalog novel translated to English one. That's much better.
SilverLightTwin May I PM you? I just have a writing-related question.

SilverLightTwin I'm also a Filipino and I do hope WN would have an area where all Filipino originals or translations are combined. I also hope Webnovel won't become the next Wattpad. I mean, it's not that I'm deliberately shaming others but I'm satisfied how readers here in Webnovel aren't as less smart as those in Wattpad. I wouldn't like it if low quality novels starts to pop up because authors know that the readers have low standards. I reckon that they can't even criticize a plot even if the senselessness is damn obvious. People are already complaining on the quality of novels-- even translations. But at the least, those novels they deem as low quality had a good flow, writing quality, stable characters although sometimes character development aren't that nice, wprld background is also fine, plot developments would flow naturally. Forced situations lacking foreshadowing are even rarely seen unlike what you can see on typical novels on Wattpad.
And ooh, check Filipino novels at novelupdates.com, even the novels that became popular in wattpad are rated so low over there.
SilverLightTwin yeah me to. But suddenly wattpad just became crappier and filled with lots of "non-readable" like stories.

Reinesse Youâre right.
The reason why Wattpad gradually decrease having Filipino readers mainly because of cliché plots, worse have dull tweaks. Yung tipong luluwa na yung mata mo kakahanap ng magandang plot pero wala ka pa ring nakikita. Bihira na lang yung overused plot pero maganda yung takbo ng story.
Iâm speaking the truth.
Only few Filipino writers that can be treated as gems.
Another one important for a writer to consider is his writing style. Even if he conveyed enough/strong feelings to the story to enable readers to feel it, if the writing style is bad enough, some would definitely leave early not finishing the story. Mostly the writing style regarded as unpleasant to read are: jejemon words; emojis; too much onomatopeias that can just replaced with appropriate words. Is there more?
Kahit gaano kaganda yung story kung mas marami pang emoji at jejemon words na sagabal, wala naman talagang halaga at nagpapahaba lang sa story, talagang sasakit din ang mata ng ilang readers.
Also take note about in grammar. We accepted that even we have English as our second language, most of us are still fluent in the said language. Thereâs no problem if he made mistakes in English (but not too much especially is basic structures).
But why even the mother tongue?
Simpleng paggamit ng ângâ, ânangâ, âdinâ at ârinâ mali pa. Kung nag-aaral yung writer tapos mali paggamit niya, baka hindi yan nakikinig nung tinuro ng teacher niya. I mean, hindi sa pagiging âgrammar consciousâ ha, pero that is basic knowledge every student should know.
At panghuli, yung mga characters na masyadong out-of-this-world yung ugali pero pag chineck mo yung genre napakalayo. Pwedeng masyadong brainless (especially sa mga making decisions) or ang OA na to the point gusto mong ibalibag yung cellphone at sabunutan o hampasin yung katabi mo sa sobrang inis.
There are a lot of problems that I unable to list down here. Bahala na kayo dumagdag ng kulang.
I apologise to whoever reads this and unable to understand some parts because of different language. I canât explain some in English so i have to switch at Tagalog.
P.S Baka may mag-correct sa akin na dapat apologize at hindi apologise. Baka lang naman hehehe.

Maraming salamat, po!
SilverLightTwin Hi guys, is story written in tagalog that bad? I'm not actually gonna defend them. It's just I'm curious. But truth to be told, I like some tagalog old stories written in difficult, jargon, unknown, and archaic words. My problem is that, oh XD I almost failed in that Language. Randam ko kasi na maganda at parang formal yong tagalog sa narration eh. Bakit, naaayaw kayo magbasa sa tagalog-written story? Curious lang po.

HearmJan it's not really not liking it, but to post it here in webnovel, it's quite messy for me, to be honest. imagine it reaching the top 100 or something, it will be extremely annoying since not everyone can read it. it could have been fine if webnovel had a section for other languages. the most annoying it could get is the typing too. like using shortcut on everything.
Oh, you have a point. I agree, tagalog-and-taglish-written stories must have their place.
HearmJan i suggested it too for how many times. plus taglish would have been better. i mean-- face it, people are barely fluent in tagalog. it's really annoying to see people translating words by making their spelling literal like computer - kompyuter. i admit that i do that and i'm a translator but that's what we're required/instructed to do.
But, still I would prefer webnovel with just English whatever it's native. For a reason, I'm not even fluent at my first tongue, and my national language. I probably go with your suggestion. (thumbs up)
I tried to write a Tagalog novel but ended to continue it English because majority would prefer English like many Asian readers here. And for sure, I still have lots of mistakes because of my native Visayan language and Tagalog is just my second language. So even my story have many writing issues, I pushed my English for majority to read them. Honestly I haven't try to open any Tagalog Translation yet. So I cannot tell more. But wattpad yes, am lazy to write there now.

Its just fine, you know! If you don't like the story then why bother yourself reading it, to the point na maiinis ka lang? We, I mean kami mga baguhan. .Im not reacting like Im the one na affected here, but lets just say, give others a chance to post their stories. May comment section naman if you guys don't like it then, just let us know. Correct us if we made mistakes, we are willing to be corrected naman but not the point that you guys will insult the author, its not really nice.! We are not perfect and there are people namn who like to read a simple one, yong tipong walang maraming ka echusan. We are pinoys, some of us still like to read tagalog originals, may mga grammar error man siguru its because. .Yeah! as what the good guy said in one of the comments, its simply because, probably we did not pay much attention of that particular lesson during our school days. hahaha. . And some of us lived in the other country so basically we adopt another language. Just forgive us, you know! Gusto lang naman namin maka pag pasaya, so if you get annoyed on reading it instead, then just ignored it, may mga readers naman kasi na they don't mind at all.
But thanks to all of you. .MABUHAY!
I kind of know there are difficulties to do the translation as sometimes, a short sentences in English becomes longer in Tagalog because of the words or have to use more words during translation. I still do buy pocketbooks if interesting one, because my nieces and cousin in-laws love to read after I finished reading them... They love to read Tagalog pocketbooks but I avoid to introduce the webnovel because there are novels that not good for the teens like for my nieces are 13-16yo. And chapters not all free though... Lol
