Hi! I'm a beginner at Chinese Webnovels and I don't understand what "warming one's bed" means. I've seen it in a couple of novels but it is still a mystery to me. There's a lot of thing I don't understand in Chinese novels such as giving face, having the urge to vomit blood, etc. but I can infer. It would be great if someone could explain to me both the literal and figurative meaning to this. Here's a few examples of it in a sentence:

"Shall I warm your bed for you, young master?"

"If you really do this so that blah blah then I would warm your bed for tonight."

"Kyaaa! (Fangirling) This little one can warm your bed for you tonight, Famous laoshi!"

What I got from this is that people get their servant to warm their beds. And the act of warning the bed of someone equals being a servant to that someone. I am still unsure about this and thus needs clarification. Google doesn't help. Sorry and thanks in advance.

    DaiskeValliere From the context, it sounds like lying in bed (so that the bed would be warmed from her body heat), so i.e., it's a euphemism for "I'll wait for you in bed tonight.", "Let's have sex tonight."

      Qidian CN has censor against sex in their books so the authors came up with lots of euphemism to describe it, I'm guessing this is one of them.

        I believe I've heard this in English books too.

        Though, I'm pretty sure I understand what those words means by the first time I read/heard of it. Maybe it was because of my blood?

                  Umm....so "warming one's bed" basically means that you wait in bed for the other person to come and have sex.........Usually the woman is the one "Warming the bed" and the man is supposed to come. But, sometimes they reverse this just to get a cute moment out because the man is willing to "serve" the woman......(serve meaning sex)
