I imagine guys should be more lewd than girls yet BL permeate the market, never saw GL on trending.
Why is GL not as popular as BL?

CacackleLasson Because there are not a lot of GL novels on here. I went to look. There is not a lot of books GL themed like there is with BL themed.(I don’t mind, I am a BL reader and writer).
To be honest I believe Yuri/Shoujo Ai is more popular. People accept GL rather than BL. But when it comes to fanfiction, manga, books, etc. Yaoi/Shounen Ai, BL takes the cake because of fujoshis’ and fudanshis’.
(I tend to write BL more because it is not accepted out in the world and you can barely find a good published popular over BL. I would love to see more popular publish books in this genre that are good with a happy ending. Sorry for going off tangent).

Yes there is more female readers, but I want to clarify that not only females read BL, some guys do too. And not all females like BL, some girls do.
RJMidnight um, yeah. Not all, but most BL reader are female. Just like GL too, not all reader are male or female.
But I still think the reason is because there are more female reader compared to male reader.
And i think male reader are also prefer comic than novel because of more eye stimulating.

Typically, GL is more tailored for guy readers. BL is tailored for girl readers. Chicks like guys digging guys.
Either way, GL is not a popular or known genre on Webnovel. It's popular at Wattpad, especially the Billie Eilish and Carmilla GL fandoms.

CacackleLasson I can't tell you what drives the choice, but I can say that it is a statistical fact on WN and Amazon, that the vast majority of BL romance readers are heterosexual people who menstruate.

I AM A GIRL! AND I LOVE GL! Well I mostly call Yuri( GL ). YURI IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS! I REALLY DON"T UNDERSTAND WHY MOST GIRLS AND PEOPLE LIKE BL MORE THAN GL!? Well that's maybe I don't like boys and men. I don't like boys so I just don't like. This isn't mean i hate BL. LGBT is the beautiful things. BUT I STILL DON"T UNDERSTAND THAT GIRLS LIKE BL MORE!!
I am crazing right now. That's a shame That BL is more popular than GL. U know Girls are just soooo cute when they are together. Especial in manga and anime.
