I didn't read MVS by JKSManga... Actually, I should say that I'm pretty new to the web novel world since I have only read 4 web novels. But seems to me that this is kind of like the fanfic era, mostly about fanservice rather than finding a really good writer, isn't it?

I've been here for only a few days but WN looks like a factory, where the more the better rather than quality over quantity.

I'll give a reply as the author myself and how I view it to help you understand
WSA is based on commerciality, What do they mean by this? Well they mean how well they think it will sell basically.
When My vampire system entered WSA, it not only went on to the top of the power ranking but was also the best seller for the whole of that time.

It even outsold the Crown's obsession, the female lead winner, that you spoke of.

Now it's also based on potential, so how well do web novel think it will sell beyond the competition. And even to this day, 6 months, or however long since 2020 WSA has ended, it is still the top seller in the male Category, and daily sales have doubles since then.

My advice usually is for up and coming authors is rather than look at its faults and think: How come this story is number one? I can write better than this, my story is better!

You should focus on why did it do well, and that way you can use the same things in your own story. why does the story sell well and continue to do so. IF a story sells, and is one of the best selling despite everything on the platform then you need to try and see why.

For me, there is no right way or wrong way to tell a story. I write what I enjoy, and it seems like most people on this platform reading feel the same way. You shouldn't;t limit your mindset, also you echo chambered the reviews. Even if you got rid of the spam reviews, most of the reviews are positive, and you are only looking at the negative.

WinterTimeCrime No idea what to comment but here in WN, I think novel is about freedom. (Copied from gundam series obviously) Have you watch Karen rider series and feel good with it? I hardly think they're doing well, but still, their toys sell like hot cakes. This is business.

Tbh, you're looking and pinpointing the wrong thing in your concern right now. Yes, spelling might be an issue, grammar too. Heck, do you think all writers are as bland and blunt to the point the don't give a fuark to software like grammarly, words document, Google doc to repair their mistakes?

When you yourself start writing, you'll notice that even with all the writing kit you have, mistake still bound to happen. You can proof read, repair, hire some people etc to make less mistake, but what else does it do? I believe that in this world we're living right now, mistake is something can be overlook, unless you're a software writer, mathematician, accountant, scientist, or whatsoever that required precise calculation. Else, like historian, all the word you write is accuracy, until some philosopher debate with you.

Honestly, JKS work weren't super attractive to me too. I personally prefer reading something plain, or what people say it's a stupid piece of work. But does that means they not doing a good job? Some people might have no talent at writing at all, but they got rich imagination. What you're buying from the writer is not preciseness of the vampire, the overview of the world, the length and girth of his genitalia.

What you're buying here is his imagination, how the world was built in the author's mind. His writing is just a mean of literature that make it alive. The more alive he did, the more enjoyable it become. This is just my one cent worth of comment. You may choose to not like it if you want. But as I always says...

You can be what you want as per your own right, but don't lead people to follow your way as If it was the only correct way. Life doesnt goes just according to the road that was already built.

(The author I'm supporting has a hole in his head too by always getting off here and there, but still, I find its refreshing reading his stories as it keep getting unexpected. Had you found your reason to read?)

That makes absolutely no sense, it's clear you have an issue with Nikki Minaj which has nothing to do with her style of dressing or singing. You are going off point in regards to that comparison of an author and a celebrity singer. WTF is that

Regardless, this is the real world where business and influence are everything. You could have an amazing story and a talent for writing, but if someone else comes along with room for marketability and pulls more numbers than you then who cares?

It's about making money, and everyone can't get a slice.
