The final decision is made by the editors. When I participated in a contest on webnovel, there were like 6 novels ahead of me in rank and the top three were botted. Anyway, long story short, when the results came out, I was in the gold tier and none of the bots were even in the bronze tier. Don't worry too much.
What are your coping mechanisms?
oh wow! Thank you! Not that I am gonna win any competition any time soon lol. But I am happy to know that the botters don't win. Honesty must mean something! Thank you again, and congratulations!! :D
fantasybliss30 you never know. I wish you luck :)
fantasybliss30 I trollbthe WebNovel app on its own forums. Nothing gets changed, but I feel better!

Why bother getting angry or frustrated over it? Just ignore their existence. I never pay any attention to rankings, votes or whatever. Just be proud of what you write, and focus on completing your story. You can't control what other people do, but you certainly can decide what you are going to do for yourself, so work on that and don't waste your time getting angry at the cheaters or botters or whoever they are. They aren't worth the time or energy.

Oh I 1000%% agree. But tell me why I will not get upset when I see the novel that has almost 10K collections has less powerstones than a novel that has 200 collections?! XD First one is > 200 and second one is > 300 PS respectively. Don't you think that this is just too extreme? XD

fantasybliss30 Because numbers are meaningless, power stones are meaningless, and...so what if a novel that has almost 10k collections has less power stones than a novel with 200 collections? Power stones don't do anything. They are worthless. They aren't worth money (that's coins). They can bot however much they want, but they aren't going to earn any money from it, that's for sure. So what's exactly the point, and why should we care if they are desperate for fake votes that don't actually mean or do anything?
Tomoyuki
Hum, I see your point. However, power stones are essential to an author because they decide the ranking. When you're up in the ranking, around the top 200, it's worth a lot because of the exposure it gives to a work.
It's certainly not worth money, of course. But the exposure is real. Being on top of the list of piles of novels exposes your work to a lot of readers. Thus increasing your col count and of course the amount of money in your wallet.
That's why the guy is complaining. Some works don't deserve this exposure. Others, of course, do.
Yoan_Roturier Honestly, ranking doesn't determine exposure. It's the content editors who pick and choose. And they know who's botting and who's not.
Tomoyuki
Exposure comes in different forms. Being in the ranking itself is exposure. Don't confuse exposure for features like weekly features, daily recommendations, potential starlet, etc. Ah, and the content editors aren't the only one who decides on who gets featured.
Yoan_Roturier It is only exposure when the ranking system is controlled and disciplined. No expeeienced user of WN even glances at rankings.
