      One thing to keep in mind about webnovels authors is they never get a chance to write a first draft of an entire book, review it, create a second draft, send it to people to review, then have it edited, etc. Having 2-3 years to ponder over a book before releasing it.

      They have to release chapter after chapter with no time to stop. Many talented American authors work would be just as shoddy if they were subject to this. Kindle unlimited already has some authors putting out crappy books that pointlessly extends plotlines for word count.

      There are alot of ways to make MC stronger.....
      Like having companions dying and MC blames himself/herself for being too weak and then he/she trains like mad
      Then revenge......
      And having parents die/captured/mother rped cause too beautiful and GF rped and killed friends killed everyone he knows get killed and he vows to take revenge.....
      Then he becomes stronger
      By getting stronger he meets more enemies and friends
      Then his/her new/old enemies kills new friends then he/she gets more stronger and try to kill his/her enemies
      just telling the consequences of being weak

        And if you want MC weak and friends weak then by the power of friendship they get stronger and theyre kinda immortal cause somehow their enemies cant kill them no matter what they do if this kind of thing is your cup of tea

                I am using real world reference, but I don't want to use the modern world without proper knowledge of it. So, I am planning to use future world or a parallel system really similar to modern Earth. Just the countries will be different and in some places culture. Let's see, I have a week to decide on this.

                The major world building happens in the second world where the MC came from in the prologue.

                I am glad that you liked the beginning. I was worried that it will bore people since it is different from the usual beginning where the story and characters and introduced on the very first page to hook people.

                (I hope I get time to continue this to reach 100 chapters. The pace I am going now is....sigh..)

                    What you have to remember is that webnovels are written entirely by one person and maybe an editor for grammar. One guy can only account for so much so they tend to focus on the mc. It's incomparable to real novels and stories which have entire teams working on it and fine tuning the world. Try some of the manhua and anime based on the books. They usually add some substance to side characters and plot in general. i generally prefer them to the webnovels.

                          It's no trash to genius thing.
                          He has no miraculous cheat. Just pure skill.
                          People tell me it's very descriptive.
                          Character Development: well, I only have 19 chapters so far.

                          Seems like you read so many bad novel (1, 2, 3 stars in my ratings) that you start to develop some critical sense.

                          But there are novels out there with fewer/almost no cliches, no cardboard characters and MC which doesn't win the lottery daily.

                          Death sutra. Reverend insanity. Nightfall (and other Mao Ni works).

                          And that's all I know for now if I think about it. The are still a few which although clicheic thevMC is weak and stuggles like RMJI.

                            That's why it is called web novel. Most of them doesn't qualify as proper publish quality novel. I'm not saying all of them bad but most of them are just like what you tell. They are like typical stereotype shounen battle manga, they sell dream, hope, etc and caters to that childish-dreamer side of human.
