bandicoot879 I lost you when you gave SH and LOHP as examples. Is this whole post supposed to be a joke? You want web novels with better character development and story writing, but then you give those examples as the 'good ones'. It's hard to take you seriously...

    Im just kidding ._. (Maybe)
    Just ignore my comments above
I am totally just kidding (this is not sarcasm) (well maybe) :3

bandicoot879 Thanks for the videos. It helps.
I am using real world reference, but I don't want to use the modern world without proper knowledge of it. So, I am planning to use future world or a parallel system really similar to modern Earth. Just the countries will be different and in some places culture. Let's see, I have a week to decide on this.

The major world building happens in the second world where the MC came from in the prologue.

      Thanks for your compliment.
I am glad that you liked the beginning. I was worried that it will bore people since it is different from the usual beginning where the story and characters and introduced on the very first page to hook people.

(I hope I get time to continue this to reach 100 chapters. The pace I am going now is....sigh..)

What you have to remember is that webnovels are written entirely by one person and maybe an editor for grammar. One guy can only account for so much so they tend to focus on the mc. It's incomparable to real novels and stories which have entire teams working on it and fine tuning the world. Try some of the manhua and anime based on the books. They usually add some substance to side characters and plot in general. i generally prefer them to the webnovels.

Commenting so I can come back here for the links .

overall u did a good job

            @bandicoot879
My novel is (I think) completely different from the normal ones.
It's no trash to genius thing.
He has no miraculous cheat. Just pure skill.
People tell me it's very descriptive.
Character Development: well, I only have 19 chapters so far.

If it interests you, please check it out:
It's called: "Tales of the Path to Godhood"

Seems like you read so many bad novel (1, 2, 3 stars in my ratings) that you start to develop some critical sense.

But there are novels out there with fewer/almost no cliches, no cardboard characters and MC which doesn't win the lottery daily.

Death sutra. Reverend insanity. Nightfall (and other Mao Ni works).

And that's all I know for now if I think about it. The are still a few which although clicheic thevMC is weak and stuggles like RMJI.

That's why it is called web novel. Most of them doesn't qualify as proper publish quality novel. I'm not saying all of them bad but most of them are just like what you tell. They are like typical stereotype shounen battle manga, they sell dream, hope, etc and caters to that childish-dreamer side of human.
