  • yk3 okay but $50 for a webnovel is complete and utter BS, the chapters better be made from actual gold if I'm paying $50 for 300 chapters

  • @op if you're gonna spend $70 a month then you might as well just sub to KU, it's only $9 a month and you can read as many published novels as you can read in a month

    • Commenting so I can come back here for the links .

      • Oxy maybe we have different criteria for judging a novels value? And I highly doubt library of heavens path went through as much editing and quality check as say I am legend, LoTR or the Harry Potter series. Even if it was up to that quality, a lot of that quality is lost in translation. Between the translator having to translate x chapters per week and them not having a publishing firm behind them to keep everything in check there's no way they can keep a standard of quality that high, it'd be a lot better if they took x amount of time for every 100 or so chapters and then released them as a sort of stand a lone thing.
Basically all I'm trying to do is restate that QI is charging a premium price for subpar products (relatively speaking.)

      • Letrico yeah but on patreon if the translators release 4 chapters a day, patreon subs read 4 a day while leeches (like me) read 4 a day as well. With this system spirit stones spenders can read 4 a day while leeches are reduced down to 1 a day, and if say a leech decided he wants to read a chapter ahead by spending then he's gotta wait two days to read the next chapter. It's essentially the same as the patreon system except for that they're effectively kinking the hose for the cheap leech bastards

      • Ebu8b i don't know if it's just me but don't they limit those? I've only been able to do like 1 a day when I tried

        • Frosch cause college is expensive for us poor bois yo

          • Evil_Overlord it'd be a lot nicer if you could watch ads for spirit stones and then exchange for chapters/chapter bundles/books like for every ad you watch you earn one spirit stone, then for like a bundle of x chapters it's x spirit stones. I dunno just spitballing here. I know the app "Choices" has like a ticket system where for every ad you watch you get three tickets to spend in game. Choices is an interactive fiction type game and each choice you make spends a ticket. And if you don't wanna deal with tickets you can just pay for the pass. I really like system.

            • Yakumo :O Ich bin kein Deutscher, freund. Ich komme aus den USA aber ich studiere Deutsch in UniversitƤt, ich spreche Deutsch gern

              • Alright so like The Strongest System before it was premium released 2 (I think) chapters a day. For 14 chapters a week. After it's become a premium novel it still releases the same amount or more however the new chapters are all "premium locked", with one per day being released into the free stock, so basically the translator is still releasing the same amount or more, but they limit the free release to one to two per day and the rest are like 8-10 spirit stones.
Feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong

                • Oxy you can't seriously be comparing the novels on here to actual published novels right? Novels that are published have multiple editors, they don't spend paragraph after paragraph describing how blue a god damnehd wall is, they don't info dump at the beginning of every chapter, their layout is properly organized, the direction of the story is properly planned out, the author and editor (s) actually communicate so they can produce a work which is appealing to read and authors are paid by publishers. These novels here, these are fucking Chinese wattpad, QI is setting a price based upon a standard of quality that they cannot provide.

You really think the quality of (chinese) watt pad is anywhere near J.K. Rowling?

                  • XeeLiao seems so. Webnovel/Qidian/Tencent is a company and the sole purpose of a company is to net a gain. Right now Qidian doesn't seem to be netting a gain from QI, it seems like the first year of QI translating hella chapters was a move to build a reader base, just to test the waters and make sure translating would be well received. Seems like it's part two and they're trying to see if translating'll be able to bring in a substantial income. They've been paying translators for the past year and i dont think they've gotten much return as of yet, it's a sort of investment. If people start paying for the chapters it'll prove a return on their investment, if it's not widely accepted they'll probably just shut down webnovel

                  • Moderator each spirit stone gives ten xp and you can cultivate/absorb a total of ten per day? A system like that sounds cool. Could also turn xp into spirit stones for us poor bois
