now i understand why some novel has a lot of chapter and has a release of 3 and 5 chapter like if was a translate novel....so the ORIGINAL novel that release 1 or 2 chapter are the true original that's why they don't get to the top cuz those copy and paste bastard. the true original take more than 2 or 4 hour to complete a chapter without edited.

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL There are too many originals, I suggest you implement a system that helps maintain control of the novels that are published on the platform. My recommendation would be to put a waiting system like "What's Next?" But in this you can read the novel and to be waiting should have minimum about 5000 words and maximum about 10000. If the novel meets the required, you vote for it if you like it. So that way you can check the novel if has copyright infringing.

KingBiBiK It's only a 5 minute process. If they aren't willing to go through such a process to protect their own work, why should anyone care?
In addition, RRL or any Google Search cannot be the arbiter of truth because this is the Internet. At best, Webnovel will have an idea that the work might be copyrighted by someone else, but they do not have the right to stop it because they do not know if it's the original copyright holder or not.
Imagine an author, A, posted a story many years somewhere (offline or on an online board that has been taken down). Someone, B, happened to have a copy of it and posted it on RRL, claiming to be his. A now posts it on Webnovel, and simply because it's already on RRL does not mean that A does not possess the right to do so. If B DMCAs it, he is committing perjury. There are many considerations to the matter which is why it's industry practice to only take down things through a DMCA.
This is the standard template needed for a DMCA. All Webnovel can do is make it easier for a copyright holder to submit the DMCA (this is the template I took from what they have been planning), but the DMCA still needs to be done by the copyright holder.

I encountered an impostor! Bah! Even I myself feel ashamed because of him/her. Fortunately, the real author was here at Webnovel. I loved her story so much, even it take so freaking long time for her to update a chapter! Wuuwuuu...
This is good, the people that were stealing novels were giving us all a bad reputation.
Can you add an option where we could start to translate a book from qiqidian? It's kinda hard to find the option to translate! Wahhh
I think the issue is that people don't know their work is being pirated. I publish on this site, and I still would have no clue if someone took my novel as there are just too many original novels. Of course if I found out I'd file a DMCA claim as it's not too much trouble. But the main issue remains the same: you'd have to spend so much time to sift through all the novels to see which one is violating your copyright (if any).
AndrewReise Same thing as how many works are stolen by translators (Japanese, Korean, Chinese) to translate but the publishers aren't exactly aware? What do publishers do? They also employ DMCAs.. and if they don't do a thing, the 'culprit' can continue doing so.
This happens across the entire spectrum of content creation. There's no reason why mere 'reporting' by an uninvolved party should have any say in it. The uninvolved parties should bring it up to the copyright holder.
Czernobog So much? I'm 99% sure you're saying this solely because of the Wuxiaworld novels. The problem with that is that both WW and Qidian both believe they're in the right. WW has a contract with Qidian, and under that contract Qidian believes that they have the right to dual host the novels, similar to how the novels used to be on both Gravity and webnovels.
WW on the other hand is of the belief that that is not possible since their individual translator contracts would forbid that due to needing a second contract with the translator to post it anywhere other than WW.
Since both sides believe they're in the right, the only way to solve the issue would be through the courts. You and I have absolutely no way to know which side is truly in the right for this matter. Considering Qidian hasn't taken chapters from the original translator of Transcending the nine heavens, otherworldly evil monarch, or some other novels I'm sure are on here, I don't think they're acting in bad faith here.
It's entirely possible, but considering the author for TTNH completely peaced out and likely wouldn't give a shit even if Qidian did steal his works yet they still didn't, I can't help but think they're not quite as bad as you think they are.

@WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL CKtalon
wow so many copyright infringing is everywhere.
I do not know much about this but if you copy and paste a novel and make Believe others that is yours are infringing the copyright, right?. So what happens if the copy and paste, translate the novel is infringing copyright?
If the answer is "Yes", then I found one of YOUR most popular novel translated into another language with 8 chapters translated.. When I started to read my mind began to compare paragraph by paragraph I said: Oh my God, this cannot be... so I decided to read as fast as possible and confirm what I was reading and affirmatively was one of your novel the main protagonist had Chinese name at the beginning , since it had not yet transmigrated, the translator seems to have decided and changed the Chinese name to a normal one and left the rest of the same names as it was compared to English there was no need to translate them.
and the name of the novel is "Release that witch"
As you can see there are 8 chapter already translate to SPANISH.
This part come from the chapter 1.
This is the part translate here:
Cheng Yan was change to Fran very original.
/*///////////
Cheng Yan felt as if someone was calling him.
"Your Highness, wake up…"
He turned his head away, but the sounds he had heard did not disappear, instead they became even louder. Then, he felt someone gently tug on his sleeve.
"Your Highness, my Royal Prince!"
Cheng Yan opened his eyes immediately. He did not see any of the things he had grown familiar with—the screen was gone, the desk was gone, and so too, was the wall which he had plastered with Post-its. They were replaced by a strange scene—rows of small brick houses, a round public square that was crowded with people, and a door-shaped gallows that was erected in the middle of the public square. He was seated on an elevated platform from across the square. The chair he sat on was not his usual soft swivel chair, but instead, a cold and hard iron chair. Sitting alongside him was a group of people whose gazes were fixated upon him. Among them were a few young women who were dressed as medieval ladies like what he had seen in Western movies, and they were busy giggling among themselves.
"Where on Earth is this? Wasn’t I working urgently on my blueprints?" Cheng Yan’s mind was vacant, perhaps caused by three consecutive days of working overtime that had pushed him to the limit mentally and physically. All he could remember was when he finally broke down, his heartbeat began to palpitate unsteadily, and he wanted nothing but to lie on the office table for a brief rest…

The translation is incredibly good that I got caught and couldn't stop.
Webnovel if you want to get more reader, you need to translate novel to another language like SPANISH, PORTUGUESE, GERMAN, ETC.
Poche my original, to finish a single chapter took me 3 to 4 hours.
TheLonerLion me too
quality over quantity!
NineNetherFox madsnail approves this.
CKtalon Yeah I'm not trying to imply that the site is doing something wrong. I'm actually mainly replying to the people on this post who say it's too much trouble or puts too much of a burden on the author to do a DMCA, and also the people who insinuate that a DMCA isn't much trouble. To those people, I'm saying the issue isn't that making a DMCA claim is too much trouble, but rather the issue is finding out whether someone is violating your copyright in the first place. It's really not easy to do. Hopefully people out there notice, and tell you about it. Then you at least have the option of filing the DMCA. Otherwise you're out of luck. Of course for a fledgling author like me, I doubt anyone would infringe on my copyright because I don't have enough of a following for it to be worth it XD
Whoever screens the novel's is your problem, I've read so many so called original that has naruto powers or dbz powers. I mean seriously does your screener think those guys can buy the right's to use those in their books. That should be instant flag and instant reject or removal. Since they can end up implicating you guys, since it went thru your approval. Just a heads up but i suggest a massive clean up asap before this small fire turns into something huge.
Azrael4355 The ToS ensures that it is the author's responsibility to not infringe copyright. Besides, there are more than 3000 original works now. There is no more screening.
Ouch gluck to webnovel then seems like this will spiral out of their control soon. They need to hold the person who came up with this idea liable or the whole company will take a hit.
