  • What is the background of Sky, the translator of MSiE?

We'd like to know more information about "Sky", the translator for "Meltdown system in eschatology".
We'd like to know what makes him qualify for being given translation work. We're interested to know if he's actually educated in the english language or if he is just a ten year old kid with basic english skills and using a cheap chinese to english dictionary to translate a novel in order to get money from Qidian. Or he could be someone intentionally trying to destroy their reputation for translation quality...
Anyhoo, we're all interested why he/she ignores our numerous suggestions, advice and reprimands regarding the wrong usage of the term "eschatology".

Are you... @checkm8 in disguise??? A joke! I haven't read it myself so I can't really provide any opinions on this, however, you may gain some fame in your... cause if you (wantonly) tagged people (the higher-ups etc.)

(If you really do that, I never suggested anything. I was never here. Ignore me. I'm just a piece of the wall.)

Olivia Oh yeah... I completely forgot about that... Here's some chocolate for you

N0xiety Well, I better start reading the novel so I too can join this lynch mob of angry farmers- I mean readers!

          Ex fucking xactly
The translation quality for meltdown is completely rubbish.
I could probably translate the novel better with a fucking Chinese to English Dictionary (A bit of an exaggeration really, but eh.)
Either it is the translator's fault or the editor's fault, either way fire the one who is doing this.

Just rate the translation quality 1. Iirc a translator (Probably Lonelytree, not sure) told me that if the ratings of the chapters keep being low QI decides to check it out.

N0xiety Unfortunately, the name (and synopsis) were clear warning signs of what to expect of the translation quality. Qidian for some reason just ignored the warning sign.

Luta there is a quality assurance team who review poorly rated novels once a month, so it will be looked at eventually. However, the QA team doesn't actually have any power and can only make recommendations to the boss.

Millman97 thats really not how a QA team should work... whats the purpose of QA if you can only recommend something :D

But I understand it partly, they don't have enough translators and every translator they let go is a novel that goes on hiatus

checkm8 I always thought the name just wanted to sound fancy and was just a try to make it appealing by being "mysterious"

EschaShitology I also hated how low quality the translation is.

Honestly, I think Qidian wants something so detestable and disgusting in the rankings to force people to use "powerstones" to vote more deserving novels up. If you check, that disgusting and filthy translation work is ranked 27 while better translated and longer novels (such as TMA) are far below. This only shows that somebody's gaming the system or setting it up in order to gain some benefits. Everyone should understand that this is a chinese company where there is absolutely no bottomline. There's no such thing as etiquette, ethics nor consideration for their readers. The chinese even put melanin in baby's milk and used "think tanks" to secure rights to oil fields through bribery. So don't expect anything good from them and see them for the apathetic amoral people that they are.

checkm8 The interesting thing is that it's weekly ranking is 27, even higher than the much better translated Cultivation Chat Group or Throne of Magical Arcana. Clearly this Sky person gamed the system by bulk releasing low quality unedit translation, in order to disgust people into buying powerstone to vote him out of the rankings.

GillyGo apathetic amoral people that they are

Fairly sure that's racist, so just breathe. Relax. Take a chill pill or something... Generalisations are almost never a good thing. Take up yoga, take a bath, drink a cup of hot something, suck on a mint, inhale the country air.

As for whether I agree with you, that's an entirely separate matter... I can neither confirm nor deny my belief....

Hey guys, other than MSiE, can you think of any other novels with bad translation/editing? We're making a list of the novels to go through :)

Neverfire7 Not really racist, since he is talking about the way corporate culture in certain country affects people's character, not the other way around.
