  • In How to write a unique female lead character, (just a hypothesis)

    It's best if we get similar advice for male characters, too. Cause even though we are evolving in terms of female characters. We still got problems with male characters like
    "He was so angry he punched the wall." 1) Anger issues
    "After seeing her he had to physically restain himself from touching her." 2) He is a sec offender
    "He arms kept bleeding but he walked through the dark forest." 3) Give him a break he is a human.
    4) Emotions
    When we write lacking female characters we are just highlighting the problems with our male characters, too. (I am guilty of it, too. shrugs)
    Would love too see a post on this topic, too. (gets pen and paper)

        But as a girl just one suggestion I can't give you writing advice since I suck too.
        1) Make her useful for the plot and character development of your MC.
        Just don't write her cause Mc can't be single or a reason like that. Let her have a purpose, her strengths and weaknesses (and by weakness
        2) I don't mean anytime something bad happens let's just mc protect he that'st'sst not what I meant. Even if we girls are weak in strength we can run away from trouble (never miss leg days.)
        3) I am not like other girls' troupes, ( I am the boy's girl, I cut my hair with a sword but it looks flawless, she never did makeup but she didn't even need it.)
        4) Harassment and rpe from the mc and fmc both sides should be held to equal standards. Just cause a girl does it doesn't makes it okay. Protect your male characters too.
        5) And lastly their romance and relationship should make them stronger trust each other more and not act like jealous children or weaker.
        6) She can be grey, girls can do the wrong things. They are not saints. She is abused? She kills her abuser. (not wrong in any way but grey character). She takes advantage of Mc to get out of a situation (like let's say to save her village or something.) But later regrets it seeing Mc is a good guy.
        (The hell if only I could follow my advice. T_T)
        Well since you asked the question I already feel you are on the right track. And I won't see "Her nipples got hard as he walked towards her." "There was a red stain which told him it was her first." "She is sick, no she just got visited by aunt flu?" Who calls period aunt flu? Like who?

          He tried going the basic villain by building a nuclear reactor only to get recognized by the key research organizations in the country.
          He entered the family company to bully his brother to get some bad press but to his dismay, he was an only child through and through. In turn he got overworked by his father.

              @Boss_Knight_4844 ouch that thing hurted cause i am currently writing a system novel. (Failed Villain BL would love it if you check it out and tell me if i am doing the same thing you talked about here).
              Second of all I hate the most popular genre on webnovel. FL gets rped but then goes back to the same guy and we get 2000 chapter of them falling in love. Like hell noooo.
              Or revenge r              pe where FL let's the villains gets r*ped and doesn't do anything. Like am I supposed to call her you go queen? Who is reading this trash, why is it getting so much attention by webnovel like we live in 2023 right. Next will I am not like other girls troupe I look great without even trying but hate it when people tell me I am beautiful.
              Last one I am teen the choosen one but I hate to be the choosen one.

                Clearly understood what it feels like when people say just be happy or be positive!
                I never liked it, things happen and you feel sad that's normal human emotions. Nothing to be weirded out by. But all I can say is things will pass. Hope you get sometime for yourself after this thesis. And don't worry about writing it's a hobby/a dream job for many. You are supposed to feel relaxed during it. I personally write short stories when I am sad (mostly, horror, sometimes just sweet greasy romance). Writing is for you to pour your emotions into it. Not feel like a trash.
                But at the same time i understand that feeling. Putting your writing were people can see it and comment anything they want is nerve wrecking but you are always evolving your writing is evolving. Whenever you feel down just look at the first chapter or book you wrote. (Sometimes you will get sweetly surprised that this masterpiece was written by you) but most times you will see ia the growth of your writing. Like the characters might evolve your clutch words might disappear. Lastly best of luck with your thesis.

                    @Sweet_xiyue no found it it's just webnovel bug playing games with me. This happened with my friend that reviewed my book too. Like I can see the review on the profile i even liked the review but still doesn't show under my book. This new mediaeval torture webnovel developed

                      So even after people reviewed my novel i don't get notification it had happened twice and those reviews don't show up on the book also. How do i know the person did review? By checking their account i saw the review there but it's not showing up under my book. So i am stuck with only 6 reviews when there should be 8. Not a big deal but I am hating this I just want to get this done with and write the f*cking book. Why dif webnovel change their format of like 10 reviews to 14. And do the missing 2 reviews even count now.
