Writing Prompts Contest #26：Legendary Mage

Mages that control the power of magic are always considered one of the most interesting type of characters in fantasy novels. Mages can control elemental magic, life magic, or even time and space magic as they seek the foundational secrets of the universe.

This writing prompt seeks a story where a mage or multiple mages are the main character of the story. As for the background setting, some mages are powerful enough to travel between dimensions and create life, while mages in more traditional stories are simply another form of scientists who tirelessly seek the secrets of life and the elements. Some mages might not even care about personal power. Of course, no matter if the mage is powerful or not, all mages need to have control over some form of "supernatural" ability in order to differentiate them from ordinary people and other job classes.

Here are some examples of stories with a mage (or a similar job class, such as warlock) as the main character:

How to join

When you create your new novel, you can choose any genre that you wish. Then, the writing contest options will appear. Choose the [Writing Prompts Contest #26：Legendary Mage] or [Writing Prompts Contest #27：Reunion of A Separated Couple] option in order to participate in this contest.

        Here’s my entry for the Writing Prompt Contest! Hope for your big support!

        This is my 2nd novel after “Rebellion Against the Heavenly Fate/ No System? No Problem!” which is still on-going. Targeting 5 chapters this week; 3 chapters are already up!

            My review of his novel if anyone is interested. Highly recommend it based on the first two chapters. After that, I'm unsure.

            Note: I give full 5 stars despite whatever I write below. Please forgive any grammar mistakes in my review, as I am writing it on mobile. Reveiw written as of only 3 chapters being written, so keep that in mind. The author may edit things which would result in a higher score than described below. Writing Quality 4/5: Writing flows well and is of high-quality. Minus half a point for a few small grammar mistakes. Minus half a point for using parentheses for internal thoughts. No idea what's up with that. Most authors either just write internal thoughts openly or enclose them in single quotes. Never seen parentheses being used before exept for maybe systems. Writing will be 5/5 if these things are fixed. Updates 5/5: New novel with 3 chapters instantly published. Story 4/5: A very strong start that immediatly builds a super interesting world. An alternative history Earth, eastern cultivation world, and potentially other worlds. I hope MC has some ultimate goal soon. Minus 1 point for chapter 3 confusing me. Character Design: 5/5. MC isn't my cup of tea but I still liked him anyways suprisingly. Excellent emotions. Antagonist was good too. World background 5/5: As mentioned earlier. Awsome worlds from the start. Suggestions for author 1. Change parenthese internal thoughts to single quotes. 2. Chapter 3... I don't know, but maybe explain what's going on. Are we still following MC reincarnated or not. Did I miss something? I'm admittedly pretty tired right now so I may have... Final thoughts: First two chapters are damn amazing. You can tell the author put a good amount of effort and love into them. He took everything he did great in his other novel and improved on it drastically by making the story easy to read and follow. If author keeps up the same quality as the first two chapters, then I see this easily entering the top 100 and higher.

                          Genre: Fantasy

                          Synopsis: Sassy university student turned Sea Spirit VS Saintly Mysterious Royal Mage
                          I am a normal university student. When I opened my eyes from my nap, I became a side character in the novel I read. I was under the sea.
                          Ianthe: "Wait didn't this character die in the last chapter? I have to avoid my death no matter what! This silver haired gentleman who rescued me, do you need a maid?"
                          Follow Ianthe's life to avoid her inevitable death while studying to be a top mage!

                            Summary
                            The story a mage who will die and become a statue in the Honorary Hall and then forgotten, even though all he did. Whereas the Prince will get cheering crown and festivals will be held to celebrate the crowning of the Prince. Then she, who left him will also forget him and marry Prince, all while thinking that she is doing this for the kingdom.

                            Now-now the story like this will become a lot boring, at least for those who like the protagonist not the Prince, so let's send him back in time.
