Greeting Fellow Daoists!! Well, I am kind of a newbie here so I have no idea how many likes I can garner, but since it's an interesting activity with such an amazing award, might as well participate.

Novels. Most of us have atleast read a few in our life so far and the genres we are most acquainted with include romance, fantasy, mystery, thriller, action, etc. But if you really think that’s all there is to the world of novels, then my friends, I welcome you to the word of Webnovels in Qidian. Over here, you would find a new world of novels, the kind of which you have never read before. From my personal experience, I could say that these novels have a very strong power to generate intense emotions in their readers, be it happiness, anger, anticipation or frustration. And the best part about it is that it’s FREE. Yup, you read it right. In case you don’t know how a webnovel works, I’ll give you a brief description: basically the Author/Translator will publish a bunch of chapter per week/day(could range from 10-14 chaps a week) and this continues till the novel is finished. It is indeed a new experience for those who have yet to try it but trust me, it’s worth a shot. We are entering a Digital Age my friends and that brings us a whole new platform to those who love reading. I won’t say anything more, since trying yourself is more convincing than listening to someone’s bickering.
For people who have no idea where to start, I would like to give a few suggestions based on my personal experience. These are the novels I found the most interesting:-
{Library of Heaven’s Path}:- This novel…….well, it is currently the uncrowned king among all the webnovels out there in Qidian. And there is a reason behind that as well. Even though the story follows the generic plot of MC showing his awesomeness and overcoming all hurdles along his path with his OPness, the way the novel includes bits & pieces of comedy, romance and face-smacking brings forth a whole new flavour to the entire story. Even something as controversial as Harem was cleverly utilized in such a way as to not leave a bad taste in your mouth at the end of the day. The world setting is the most unique I had ever seen and it keeps the reader immersed throughout the whole story. Even the filler chapters tend to appear interesting. Overall, hat’s off to the author as well as the translator.
{I am really a Superstar}:- This is one of my personal favorites and I have been following it long before it was published in Qidian. This is one of those unique novels which is set in the same timeline as of 21st century and does not include any concept of cultivation or RPG. It’s basically about how an average fellow climbs the ladder from the bottom to the top in the entertainment industry and become the top celebrity of the world. Despite that, it is still one of the top 5 novels in Qidian. Why? It’s all thanks to the unique charm of Zhang Ye(The MC). The face-smacking here is in another dimension altogether. Trust me when I say this, but strangely enough whenever the MC smacks people in the face, the reader will have an intense feeling of pride, thrill and excitement. No matter how bad your mood is, after reading a few chapter, you will definitely have a smile on your face. That’s how interesting it is.
{Martial Arts Master}:- This is a relatively new novel and have yet to gain much popularity, but according to me it is still one of the best out there. Here we follow the story of a young man in a world similar to Earth where martial arts is considered one of the most popular professions and supernatural powers are commonly seen. The most unique thing about this novel is its romance. The romance starts pretty early and I gotta say the female MC is one of the best I have ever seen. Even though the MC here is strong, he has many flaws as well and the female MC is always there by his side to cover up those flaws. It’s unlike those novels where the female MC acts like a side-character. Here, the presence of the female MC is as important as the presence of the male MC and without her, the male MC will be incomplete. I highly recommend it for those who want to read a story with a good romantic subplot.
{Monster Paradise}:- This is a new one as well. Over here, we have a MC who is OP and not OP at the same time. The world building is very unique and interesting. Here, we follow the adventured of our MC in a technologically advanced world where monsters exist and are attacking the humans from a different dimension. The power-ups are similar to other cultivation novels with some minute changes. There aren’t many good novels with modern world settings out there and this definitely comes under one of the best ones. Plus it has some RPG elements in it as well and that makes this all the more interesting. Recommending for those who love action and adventure with a strong main lead.
{Ultimate Scheming System}:- I can only describe this with one word:- Hilarious. It’s a unique novel which combines comedy with action in such a clever way that the reader just can’t take his eyes off it. We follow the MC with a cheat system who is hell-bent on wreaking havoc in a fantasy world. It’s a world of cultivation of course, and you can guess how the story will progress when we have elements like these. We have some clichés as well, but overall it’s very interesting and funny.
{Legend of Ling Tian}:- It’s pretty rare to see an OP MC using his wits to thwart his enemies off and over here, we have exactly that. Despite the world being a cultivation world, a lot of information is hidden from the MC at the beginning of the story and despite being OP, the MC cannot do as he pleases due to the presence of the unknown. We have romance and harem as well, so plus points for that. The MC also loves acting mysterious and confusing his enemy, so if you expecting an arrogant MC killing enemies left and right and showing off then you are dead wrong. All the MCs actions are taken after careful planning and there are also times when everything doesn’t go according to his plans. Despite having a few cliché moments, I would say this novel is pretty unique among others in the cultivation genre.
{Swallowed Star}:- It’s one of the oldest novels in Qidian and one of my favourites. Even the plot is based on cultivation, the world setting is set in space and that’s what makes this more interesting. The MC is not very OP at the beginning of the story but as the story progresses, the MC becomes progressively stronger as well. The adventures of the MC here are very unique and each arc introduces a new environment to the readers, which further fuels your curiosity. Trust me, reading this, you’ll never get bored. Even it has only a few instances of Romance in the early chapters, it does not influence the story much. While reading it, you may find the MC to be too OP in some instances but too weak in the rest. It has a unique charm to it and I’ll highly recommend it for those who love space-travelling subplot or DE like setting.
{Night Ranger}:- This is a pure RPG world and those who have read Warlock of the Magus World and likes it will like this as well. The world building is very similar, with swords and magic, Gods and religion, etc. It is a novel entirely dedicated to action and the fight scenes here are good. The MC here is not invincible, despite having knowledge about the future and there are always some unexpected factors which makes the fight more interesting. It is perfect for those who love a smart and strong MC slowing gaining power and defeating enemies with his strength as well as wits.
{My Cold and Elegant CEO Wife}:- As the title suggest, this book has a Romance, or better to say Harem subplot in a modern world. The MC here is OP(The strongest man in the world) and pretty smart as well. There are similar novels with the same world building out there, but the unique thing about this novel is that the MC does not act like a slave to the female MCs that we usually see other novels and has his own pride and dignity. Even though he spoils his love interests, if any one of them disrespects him, he reciprocates and does not act like love-struck puppy.
{The Strongest Gene}:- Nowadays novels with cultivation subplot are everywhere but here we have something unique. Even though its setting is in a world where humans can gain power, the main difference is that the whole subplot is based on the development of genes. The stronger your genes, the stronger you are. And in this world, we have our MC with that cheat to change his luck. It’s a unique cheat and that makes this novel one of a kind. The fights here are very different from the normal hack and slash we usually see in cultivation novels. Plus there are many other unique aspects in this world of genes which keeps the reader immersed and the story interesting. Highly recommended for those wanting to read something new apart from the usual cultivation novels.
{Superstars of Tomorrow}:- It’s a novel released this week and it’s very similar to {I am Really a Superstar}. The only difference being, it’s based on a futuristic, technologically advanced version of Earth. This brings a drastic change to the methods the MC uses in his path to fame, but retains certain elements of IRAS which keeps the story interesting. It is hard to say much about it since it has only released a couple of chapters so far, but I have high expectations from this one.
