Tugster It's because this is Qidian that I say that they should add other genres as well. There are tons of novels spanning many genres on Chinese site. Here most of the ones are either Xuanhuan or Xianxia. The number of others are way too small.

In my opinion I am not bored of cultivation novels. It's just that nearly every cultivation novel doesn't offer something new.

It's like changing the names and starting point of the novel.
They should just put something new in the cultivation novel. Like a better setting.

It's not the cultivation that bored me but the world settings and so.

Xianxia and xuanhuan are two of the best genres you can find in chinese webnovel.

Qidian has a huge amount of potential and in the not so far future will probably start to add more genre's of novels later on

Armand_Targaryen The novel with which I entered the Original Writer Competition here at Qidian was of that genre.
It was mostly Horror with a bit Love in the Magic World Setting.

But the Horror part only started in the last 2 chapters so maybe they don't see it as a horror-novel currently.

Coz while there are many Infinity genre in Qidian, there are only a few good ones (Ultimate evolution, Ace evolution and Thriller paradise) and they were mostly already translated.

I feel that the site has way too many game element related novels. I actually feel it lacks quality 'Xianxia' novels like 'Heaven's Shadow', 'ISSTH', etc. Even the ones on the queue don't inspire confidence.

Post any novel, if you don't like a specific kind don't read it! Hot dayum cant demand something of others cause you don't want it

yep, kind of tired of all the cultivation novels. One after another, where they all find an opportunity and begins to get stronger, then they encounter some villains which they beat etc etc. DAMN tired

The biggest genre in china is apparently xianxia/xuanhuan.

Why don't you go read western and wait for more meanwhile?

Two of my favorites here are Perfect Secret Love and Trial Marriage Husband, neither of which are cultivation. I read a lot of the cultivation stories though usually until they get into tedious formulaic loops of power up> fight new higher level bad guy>power up>fight new higher level bad guy... As long as a story has something outside of that never ending loop, I usually keep reading.

Agree that there should be more kinds of novels. I do like the infinity genre, or at least the idea of it, but there are very few good ones and even then they aren't too great. UE has too much info dumps, and I don't care for all the scheming and the main fouces to be the background information. Not Qidian, but IA was okay at the start, but had too many calculations and too many sermons about human nature. The rest are just power fantasies that can't pace themselves, with too many having data bodies and calculated damage. Devils Cage it okay, and while it had the typical lone wolf smart protagonist with plot armor his p personality is likable and had some friends.

The only reason I am reading Chinese webnovels is for cultivation. I can find everything else in English, with stories of a far better quality.

If you look at how the Voting System works... I think if they ever put one.. it might be the last to get a release

I wish they would start translating stuff like ace evolution and history's best reincarnation as well but it's probably not gonna happen cause they get drowned out by the shitty "romance" and cultivation novels not that there aren't good ones in these novels but quidan only seems to pick the shitty ones barring a few exceptions

I'm fine with this being a cultivation den kind of a site, with some side-dishes now and then. Not a fan of GantZ illegimate children novels, neither do I like systems kind of stuff.

If you're bored of medieval x cultivation, then there is Forty Milleniums of Cultivation or sth like dat, wich takes a new , modern angle at cultivation.

Infinity has its moments but I find most of them too depressing. The inhabitants seem to focus on themselves instead of uniting even if the entire human race is facing extinction which I just depresses me. If they unite like in DE and forty milleniums of cultivation then I’d love it. But what I really want to see are business novels. Monster factory is a top choice and common sense of a duke’s daughter is my favorite (tho it’s japanese) And there really aren’t many of them being translated, at least with more than 200 chapters. If anyone knows a business novel I’d love to try it out. Thank you
