Forsaken1 It's alright I still thank you for getting a bit interested to even think of trying to read my novel. Literally even the thought truly counts. :)

    682 and 305k, and another 109 and 98k Views,
But you shouldnt Base your writing quality on these Numbers.
If you just want to get successful on WN, I would suggest to write Daily. Even Double Daily. Whatever.
Quantity over Quality. What I mean is that even with a half well made novel, if you did Daily chaps, you might be more successful. My hypothesis :)

      FleetingClouds

No, my goal is to be a good writer, from what I have seen WN does not pay well, and I do not agree with their system, but thank you for the input. =]

which is why I wanted to know peoples collecter numbers, as a sort of marker I guess?

        19 days later

Mine is 1900 collection with 370K views.
        Is it good or bad?
        Started from 21 October.
        Already have 50 chaps.
But now I feel like my novel is worthless and I have kinda lost the motivation. Damn I'm having a hard time getting over this thing. I just can't sit my ass down and write when my heart is not with it.
        Wish me luck

Author_Shizu what the f*ck u talkin bout, 370k views is amazing. Think about it, how many clicks these are. If you refer one number as a single minute, it would be 256 days.
Imagine 370.000 people standing right in front of you. Not even people, imagine eggs. Still awe inspiring.
I donโ€™t know where youโ€™re lack of selfconfidence comes from, but I believe these are good numbers

            16 000 and currently growing.

              Hyowha I don't know.
I have only 13 ratings, including me.
              Not ranked high enough.
And having upto 10 people commenting each chapter.
I mean if I have 1900 collections and even if at least 500 people are regularly reading it then why such a small number of response?
Its like people have added my novel and then have forgotten about it.
Then maybe I'm thinking too much.

JunkieOverThe_Moon I recently started a second story, and based from how relatively slow the collection adds are trickling in, I now know my first story is actually doing quite well. Don't even know why I'm telling you this, tbh...

Lonelytree Pretty please, how do we block the counter? I can't ignore it using willpower alone lol

Author_Shizu Iโ€™m gonna be honest, a lot only add for exp, use only temporary accounts or wait for the chapters to amass. There arenโ€™t many who add the story to their collection to always ben up to date.
I personally have 5 in my collections and I have not touched them since I added them. Not because I donโ€™t like them. I love them, which i am why I added them. But I either wait for them to get more chaps or only wanted to show my support.
Adding stories to libraries make them easily accessible as you can see what chap theyโ€™d are in without clicking.
So best is if you take these collection numbers as Likes, rather than traffic.

I deeply admired the author who can keep writing and updating his novel regularly, even his/her collections are not increasing at faster rate compare to others. As long you enjoy writing your story, keep going. As long you have one reason to keep going, just keep going! Others factors are just nuisance, they will drag you slow from attaining your goal. Remember "Rome is not built in one day"

If you keep going you might be surprised what's waiting at the end of the rainbow. If you stop in the middle, you will never know...

                  Take care all.

AerynSun I can personally say that this is true, except for me itโ€™s more like

Welp I gotta write a few terrible chapter and then pop out that one good chapter once every year (and I havenโ€™t even been writing for a year!)๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–

Although you must admit writing too chapters a day is also quite impressive in its own way even if the chapters arenโ€™t that great

UnjustlyUnderpaid Twice a day is crazy impressive because I'm already dying with managing one a day.

Maybe I'm a bit of a purist but I'd like to think that I prefer to craft out the perfect chapter in a week, rather than release two a day filled with errors and sentences that are not well thought through.

Sometimes when I read through my chapters and see the typos and grammatical mistakes, it makes me cringe and want to hide under my blanket. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

                      AerynSun

Hahahahaha, don't be embarrassed...mine is the worst of all...

25 collections...9,791 views....10 chapters...13k words counts...Because of embarrassment...I choose not to include the link of my story here, hahaha, but am having fun with my story...so I will continue my fun...nothing else matters.

                        Lizabelle88
I wholeheartedly agree frnd. This conversation was like a thorn to me to see everyone popping crazy numbers in thousands.... I only hope that one day people will atleast think about my novel once in their lifetime...... Maybe thats pushing it tooo much.....

I only hope to write a chapter in two to three days so that I cansatisfy my meagre readers.... And not make them run away...

My biggest threat is not even the views and collection count...my biggest threat is myself...what if I get bored writing more chapters?...will I ever finished my story? So, yeah...many writers abandoned their own story due to many reasons...my biggest challenge is how to finish my story to the very end and not suddenly stop in the middle, that is what am currently focusing at...not so much on the collection and views, ( they will come later if it's meant to be )...because finishing a story is the most important thing and the most challenging for new writers like me.

LexieM3 if your asking what collection is, its the number of people who have saved your novel into their library.

If youโ€™re asking where to find it, itโ€™s in ink stone next to views

Lizabelle88 Try planning an ending and maybe a few major events in between. I know some writers enjoy coming up with things on the spot, but I found that doesn't work for me all the time. I need a detailed plan to follow so I wouln't run out of ideas and become frustrated (and, you know, quit). Hope this helps.

i have 1.5k views, 49 collections, one auxiliary chapter and one actual chapter and that sums up to two chapters. it has been exactly one week.

Lizabelle88 Thank you for the pep talk. I was seriously wondering if I should just end my novel and move on due to lack of response. No reviews and only a single comment so far.

My underwhelming numbers stand at 25 collections and 74.6k views for 33 chapters totaling 74k words or so since August.
