Author_Shizu To answer your question: I usually add a story I liked to my library after reading a chapter or two. Most of those times, out of misplaced optimism, I pause reading. Unless there were few enough available chapters that I could finish them all in one go, I usually think "this seems great so far, I'll read the rest later." If many readers are like me, I hope you can find some comfort in knowing they probably did like your story enough to want to continue.

As a writer, I understand your doubts. I started a month after you did, I've got around 20 chapters, yet my collection and views are not half of yours. My active and consistent commenters are playing at a whopping two these recent chapters, and I also hope to the high heavens that the rest of my readers are the silent types. For me too, comments, collection adds, and votes serve as motivators -- NOT to keep writing, but to keep posting chapters here. I can still continue writing even if I don't publish, the whole point of joining a platform like this is to interact with readers and maybe get feedback if the story's direction is still going fine or something.

Right now, I'm just glad I do have some readers who let me know they've read to the latest chapter at the time they commented. Many of them don't comment anymore after that. Makes you assume a lot of things, right? It can be really really difficult to keep your thoughts positive, but I don't hold it against them, I just refer to my own behavior as a reader.

Sorry this got long, just want you to know that from my perspective, your story's doing amazingly well. If you're no longer enjoying the act of writing itself, that's one thing, but if it's only the audience's actions that's bringing you down, then it will be a shame if you stop. Good luck...

Majority of readers are lazy on the commenting process, lol. They just want to read and read....I think it's part of human mentality...Humans love to keep getting something out of everything but not giving in return. You get what I mean. I categorized two readers in to two types...

1.) The first type is loud readers, they usually are louder with their comments on comments section. They love your story to bits and want to interact with the author and everyone. They got their fix that way.

2.) The silent type readers. They add your story in the library, they regularly read your update, then move on with their lives with out saying a single "Hello" in your comments section.

Why don't you make an experiment yourself? Try to refrain updating your story for just one week, let see if the comment section of your story will be flooded with complaints...just kidding! Take care.

Author_Shizu I start reading reseantly. I read every chapter when I have a chance. All chapter has a stimulus to the reader to ask for more for the next chapter to release quickly. The author must be genius I thought cause they caught the attention of the reader.... Thank you for making a such wonderful story... Be a blessing to every one....

Author_Shizu I'm the kind of reader who stockpiles chapters. I usually wait till there are at least 300-400 chapters, or even until the story is finished, but in the meantime I will keep unlocking chapters. This is especially true for originals because I don't want to start reading a story only to find out later that the author will drop it. So don't worry too much about the lack of interaction, perhaps some readers are just making sure you will finish your story first before they start reading.

Well, I do read them. Sometimes, I forget to read. so, it depends if the story is interesting enough to continue reading. frequent updates help. But i also check out some forgotten novels ...like jun jiuling that havent been updated for ages.

there is hope as long as its in the library, I think.

Another possibiity is that there may be some, who read what they can afford and that is it. I will occasionally look on the homepage for potential reads to start one day, but because I refuse to buy spirit stones, I can only read so much. And truly if I have to spend SS on even one story I can’t do any others.

Another reason would be having too many ongoing stories. I am currently reading about 7 consistently with a few others that release very irregularly but that is my limit.

But I also fall into that silent reader category that occasionally comments. Mostly because it’s a new idea to ‘talk’ to the translator or author as you read, at least for me.

Author_Shizu not really. i have the same case, too. i am even placing quarter of redeem codes per actual chapter to entice them to comment but there is none. (i have only updated the first chapter tho)

Author_Shizu i don't comment unless I have a lit AF comment to leave. So it's understandable that few users leave comments. It also depends on the chapter if there are twists and turns, or something to piss off the readers, then you'll get flooded by comments.

I face the same problem and have wondered the same. I find I feel more joy when there are comment. I have loyal following in the comment 5-10 once in awhile on different chapter. So I feel your pain.

            What is your novel?

I add novels that I like to the library, but read only when I have time.
I have like 30 or so in my library.....
              I just like them all...
When will I have enough time to read so much.??!!😂
So I will read them, Just donno when....
