I'm tired of Webnovel as well. Though I do not have an elite subscription, I bought many many secret stones and spent a huge amount of money to read up all the chapters in my favourite novel (Perfect Secret Love) and after I finally caught up, the novel stopped updating for about 2 months with no communication from Webnovel. It has resumed since, but the quality of translations has dropped a lot.
Dynra And the title of this forum post by @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL should read they are cancelling subscription, as they have not mentioned any plans to modify existing subscription model. Why use sugar coated words?

Looked at the end, and it was more that every chapter in the book we was reading was unlocked, and it not only those we had previously read.
So it elite membership seems to have unlocked everything.
While with SS we actually buy access to every single chapter we unlock.
Some difference there in which I bet they figured they were loosing money on.
Given I spent about 2000 minutes a week on their site reading.

@WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL It was pretty obvious that the elite subscription would make some authors and translators get more than others, because 100% of people who bought more than 25$ in SS went direct to the elite subscription, while few people who never bought SS or only bought less than 25$ decided to become elite (probably they really can't afford it).
I managed to finish a few books during my 2 months as elite and I would like to take part of the next "beta" and I have a suggestion.
It is something similar to Crunchyroll.
1) Free users: they stay with the current status, reading through winning bonus SS
2) elite: paid subscription with access to everything already published ( subscription between 10-20$)
3) Premium: they are elite, who uses SS to read in advance the chapters of the next week, this means they will be spending SS almost in the same way of the current premium.

That, by changing things so that the translators get more money for less work time and time again, that we’ll just keep paying. You had an opportunity, to show that you actually gave a rats a$$ about the readers, by giving us a way to not have to do everything manually. This is B.S. I finally get cut a break on spending cash for spirit stones and yall pop up out of nowhere with this nonsense on top of that my Google play doesn't even have the subscription listed to cancel even though it's in my transaction history. So now I cant even tell if I'm gonna continue to get charged for a service yall sold me on. I'm seriously considering giving this website and app up and just saying f##k it n go try my luck with different novels on other sites or just go back to manga and video games. Get your sh#t together. If a author or translator is losing money cuz everyone is reading other people's work than theirs then oh well it's the nature of the business. And stop being a baby about it. If your writing a book or translating a novel that no one reads why are you messing with the publics subscriptions that we paid for?
Yep there are a lot of "free" sites out there ,it's a shame but I will need to be finding them . Because 1000 chapters at say 7 ss a chapter is a lot more than most people can afford, especially when you find out it was just a filler.
The subscription itself was overpriced as is, but now you're stopping it because a small portion of the novels saw less income, so what? Surely the many novels with more income should counter that?
Stopping the subscription service is going to cause authors to lose money while the few top authors make more, is that what you want lol>

This is what i take issue with, you're fucking over a large number of authors whose income increased, for the minority who were already making more money, there is no way to increase everyones income without charging retard rates which will encourage piracy.

Is this another marketing ploy?? Hungering the market (users)?? Give them a taste, then take it away. I am pretty sure there are some people who can not wait. Ending up buying SS to continue reading. First they advertisement for chapters, then introduce spirirt stones with premium, when people started bulking up there SS stash to bulk read they then ADD expiration limits on the free and purchased SS which mostly hurt the free SS forcing some to purchase. Then add gifting SS which i think was a waste but another bait for users to buy more SS to gift. Which was to make preperation for the new subscription which is good, because they do not need them. Now they remove the option to subscribe causing some to purchase SS. WOW good job Webnovel who ever is in charge or the brains of the marketing team REALLY GOOD JOB.
