  • SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE TO US A NEW TRANSLATOR TO KING OF GODS

LordRuler if a translator cant keep the release in day for 3 months whats the purpose of a power ranking to give more release to the most popular novels?

And my SS gonna expire sometime... soo i'm gonna lose it, kog its literally the only reason why im using webnovel

idc if the translator drops the queue, if he keeps the normal weekly release its fine for me

now kog its 10 chapter per week,,,,,, until now we have only 4 translated, and its one of the most popular novels here, i really cant see how is that ok

    8 days later

MagicoDePinto today somebody said that thunder won’t update a chapter on any given day if webnovel didn’t pay him on time. what a load of bullshit by thunder, he really need to be replaced

345T That's not true. Whoever said that is a liar.

        9 days later

        its really a shame.
i love this novel but its just pity like this.

whats the point of queue and updating that its gotten bigger if no one is really going to make it up.

This is a really entertaining novel, but it's being ruined by this translator's inconsistent release of chapters

Tofu If this isn’t true then what?? exam?? Seminar??

        • Tofu replied to this.

345T I have spoken to Thunder and we have taken note of that he has some real life issues to deal with, thus he is unable to keep up with a consistent 10 chapters a week speed. Exodus Tales (The Translation group that manages King of Gods) does not have any intention to switch out the current translator with a different one either in respect of the work he has done so far. Please be patient as Thunder will come back stronger and better.

Tofu If the man is having personal issues then he should have given a statement to begin with, "I'm having huge personal problems. I won't be able to translate consistently for 3 months. I apologize, and promise to come back strong."

That's understandable since life happens, but instead we are promised "I'll catch up" or "extra chapters". This is not very professional. Besides, if a group is managing it, can't they temporarily switch translators until Thunder sorts out his problems? I guess I don't really know the size of the group so it's not a fair assumption, but this really risks losing fans for the novel.

Tofu With all due respect, what kind of response is that?
Can readers also say, sorry we have real life issues, we won't pay spirit stones, we wanna read chapters for free?
Basically all you said is "Go F yourself, nothing's changing" in a polite way, webnovel demands readers to pay to read, but offers nothing but disappointment.

TheNobleLion I could potentially do that, however, we need to first understand that Thunder has been translating King of Gods by himself since the very beginning. It'd be extremely disrespectful of me to just forcefully switch him out with a different translator temporarily, however, I can make an attempt and see if he's willing to do so.

DaoistFedUp Readers aren't the one translating the chapters.

I'm not sure why you think comparing yourself, a reader, to a translator is okay. A translator is someone who have put in countless of hours to produce a qualitative chapter for readers to read. By comparing a translator to a reader is sort of like saying Jack Ma and your baby sister in kindergarten are doing the same amount of work and should therefore be equal.

You can take it in whichever way you want, my stance on this is that Exodus Tales as an organization cares for our translators and respect them. If they have problems which they need to take care of urgently, we will support them 100% and if it'll be a longer period of time, we will sort out an alternative in form of temp work being done on the novels.

Yeah if that series had a consistent translator it would have been in the top 3 by now.

Tofu Regardless of the result, thank you for the attempt. Much appreciated. I know some people hating on the Thunder and saying he's lying, but please wish him the best with whatever he's dealing with. People (including myself) tend to get overexcited when it comes to the novels they love.

Tofu No am not comparing "a reader, to a translator is okay" am comparing someone who's paying for a service, should get it, your logic is very flawed, people put countless of hours in any job they do, it's normal, i do that too, do you think that am some kind of robot or AI?
We all have lives and jobs that we put "Countless hours into", you should have not insulted readers in such way.
And this proves my point, this how most translators view their readers, which in this case, again we are not just "Readers" anymore, it's not free service...

DaoistFedUp Can readers also say, sorry we have real life issues, we won't pay spirit stones, we wanna read chapters for free?

This part itself indicates that you believe yourself to be on the same wavelength as a translator.

Translators are people too and sometimes they have problems that requires urgent attention. Just like when you work in a traditional job and you need time off to deal with other problems that occurs in your life. If you can't understand that fact, then you may just be a robot.

We are grateful for our readers being committed to reading our novels, however, we don't tolerate it when readers believes it's acceptable to mock our translators. You may have your own job and perhaps you are incredible at it, that's great, I admire you for that. Our translators are equally amazing at their jobs and we respect them for such, therefore, we will support them in anyway we can.

Tofu This part itself indicates that you believe yourself to be on the same wavelength as a translator.

So you're implying that i am a lesser human being? am not qualified to be on par with translators? we readers are trash or something?

Anyways, this could be solved simply, transparency, most people complain because of empty promises and disappearance without notice.

                        Have a good day.

Tofu Generally speaking any "employee" of a company that goes from a productive member of the team to doing sub-par work and missing deadlines would be fired. And it is NOT translator > reader or any such thing. Its service provider and paying customer. If he was doing it for free than yes he can screw off all he wants. But he's not doing it for free is he?!

Vap0r1 The translator have been keeping up with a consistent release for the last couple of years, and he has been working with us for ages. If we were to fire the translator DUE TO PERSONAL PROBLEMS THAT REQUIRES ATTENTION then what would that make us to be?

DaoistFedUp No one ever indicated that. All I'm saying is that being a reader and a translator are not the same thing, you can't use the logic that you can get free chapters because you don't feel like paying. Please get your head out of the mud and read.
