yaoyueyi yes but its not adding in value when I read and I don't see any advertisements. It only increase when I clam the reading times coins

yaoyueyi You can also get points for hitting certain time checkpoints in the reading checkpoints.

This has not been happening. When it was still Spirit Stones, yes, but when it changed over to coins, it stopped. I do get the pop-ups that I've achieved ## reading minutes and have been rewarded with 10 coins, but my balance remained the same until I finally used up all my old SS two weeks ago. Now, regardless of my reading minutes, I still have 0 coins. I can usually log in up to 600 minutes a week which should give me 50 coins, but I haven't gotten any in the past two weeks. Am I missing anything?

irlsgirl Please at least try to read it properly, it said point, not coin. The reward for reading time has been changed to farming point instead.

          THA BIG RANT:
It's interesting that people think that content, infraestructure, and the people behind WN are created just like writing fiction. You want it to exist, and after you type some words, it exists by the magic of your imagination.
          But it's real life.
          It has costs. COSTS. COSTS!
People find a Chinese novel on internet and asks: TRANSLATE IT. I WANNA READ IT! WN translates it.
then: TOO FEW OPTIONS! GIMME MORE! WN gives you more.
then: IMPROVE THE APP! they start working on it.
then: WANNA ORIGINALS! they start paying originals.
But you guys don't want to pay anything. It's too much "gimme gimme", like 2yo toddlers throwing tantrums.
WN it's not perfect. But it needs to be paid, regardless. Authors, translators, editors, IT guys and programmers, costs on rent, equipment, servers, and etc etc. Netflix it's not perfect either, people also complain about content choices, bugs and whatever, but it needs to be paid the same.
Don't pretend to be so dumb you can't understand it. If you can't, you're really a toddler that cannot see beyond your hands.
-"OH, I don't have money but I still wanna read!"

You can watch the movie's trailler for free, but they don't let you go watch the full movie in the theather if you don't have a ticket. But you still can watch other movies available in the open TV. That's your option when you claim you don't have money for a ticket.
OR... prioritize what you want and make money for it. Stop acting like a baby. Pay for the fun you consume.
          That's how world works.
-Wanna endorse piracy?! It says much about you, not about WN. If you are the one who think it's fair to steal, there's a name for it. And it's not Robin Hood.
Don't forget Megaupload, Pirate Bay and the such paid a price, in the past, and in US some people who consumed pirated movies and songs were sued as well. Nobody judged whether the songs or movies had high quality and "deserved" to be pirated. If you are stealing, it's because you think it's worth something.
-Free options? Of course there are some... by now.
There's NO FREE APP in the world. They start free, but they won't be free forever. Costs raise and must be paid.
Ads don't pay the costs. It's like people who think Youtubers make millions only on Google Ads. That's not how they make money.

OH such an annoyance to deal with people acting as toddlers.
What is free, is free, but to Caesar what's Caesar's.
          Don't @.

if you've read the original post, you will see....

            11) Reading Checkpoint Rewards are not giving me coins!
They were never intended to give you coins, but points.

            eaglesword From Contract FAQ.

Authors' earnings come from Premium chapters, Privilege chapters and Gifts (which are from paid Spirit Stones.) FYI, writers earn much more from Premium chapters than Gifts.
            In a Premium chapter, 100 words = 0.01 USD.
101 words count as 200 words, which would amount to 0.02 USD
            0.02 USD = 1 Spirit Stone
A Premium chapter with 1000 words would require 5 Spirit stones to unlock, and would amount to 0.1 USD.

Fast pass only benefits those who read expensive novels. Those who read the cheaper novels (3-4 coins per chap, which goes down to 1-2 coins per chap with discount) will have their reading cut down significantly. And these are translated novels I'm referring to, so you can't say WN won't be allowing short chapters in the future as there's no way translated novels will get longer unless chapters get merged. Not surprised WN is losing readers. This is an ill-advised move.

            PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH

Whit this new system I tough to not purchase the privilege chapters anymore because anyway they are not unlockable with the fast passes. So I decided to wait for the free released ones, but now "not privileged" chapters are been released anymore (at least this week), even if the release rate stated is 12 chapters per week. Is it normal?

I had to laugh at the stuff about piracy. why should I feel shame? I'm not doing anything illegal. I'm just using your inability to safeguard your documents. On the other hand, I would have to think double about entering a contract with a company which can't even keep the work of their employees safe.... you should feel some shame for that.

I'm not the one sharing the stories, which is what is illegal. It's not illegal to consume pirated media, as long as I do it for private use.

I'm simply a lurker currently read in front my food ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„ the tread is intense๐Ÿณ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿณ

yaoyueyi There are lots of good free novels?? I don't think so. I am someone who has lots of free time and I use it reading. I have read tons of novels on here, good and bad. Let me just say over the years I have watched more and more novels, translated and original, get locked behind a paywall. I'm ok with this as authors gotta earn too. What I'm not ok with is how bad grammar is. I let it slide with translated novel to a point but originals... No. At this point in time for webnovel, you all have scooped up like every decent original novel. The ones that are left have bad gramatical errors. Sometimes I have to auto correct words in my mind to the point I just stop reading the novel all together. Even then you guys are reaching out to these people, as I have seen in some comments on chapters, to get them into a contract. With how bad their grammar is it tells me the people at webnovel don't care what garbage their customers read. Y'all just want money. As someone that's been here a while that's all I have seen from day 20 of being on here. No wonder people go to pirate sites. In the USA I can just go to the library and read a novel or comic for FREE. So y'alls marketing scheme doesn't really fly with me.

I don't really see negative comments ever so I'm guessing you all remove them.

SrtaA let me just be ask to understand you. A normal novel anywhere in the world is anywhere from $5 to $50, but Webnovels are so special and require so much that theyโ€™re as expensive as $150-200?
Atleast other authors and publishers have the courtesy to respect their readers aka their freaking customers who bring the money. Otherwise, they can translate it and keep it

LavishSquirrel Absolutely!! I actually once calculated the average cost per book, and the cheapest is almost $150. I mentioned that a Webnovel is actually more expensive than a printed, not electronic, medical book. One of the translators had the gal to tell me that they worked harder on the novels than a medical book. What pisses me off is that I donโ€™t blame them. I blame my stupid ass for actually getting addicted. When I first started reading, the books were free or had adverts. I started paying at 1200-1400 chapters. By then I just wanted to finish the book. While waiting, I tried others and without that sense of closure, it becomes a vicious cycle of waiting and trying others. Books that follow a one track pattern: trash cultivating become stronger, reincarnation, reticent, virgin male lead who only like the female lead, constant attempts at sabotage (drug, murder and rape attempts).
I am really pissed now. I donโ€™t spend my money to be ranted by poor customer service, who by the why, donโ€™t respond to all their customers. I donโ€™t care if I actually finish any of the books now

Naive_Gumshoe Just for your information. Average novel everywhere in the world ranges between 80k words - 150k words, with 150k being a very sizeable book already.

Your average novel here, has 500k words+

                      Know the fcking difrence.

Naive_Gumshoe haha omg. Are you me? I've been here since it was all free too. I remember the entire wuxi.a.world debacle. I remember when they implicated locked chapters but every new update it would unlock one or 2 previous locked chapters. I was cool with that. But then they started locking novels from chapter 90 on. I went from reading translated to originals real fast. Now all the good originals are locked. I just read on a different site now cuz like you I'm so addicted and I need my book fix at least once a day. I'm not paying more than 30 bucks for a book that doesn't further my education. Financially I don't think anyone can afford to pay 150 to 500 USD in any country for just one book unless they are making 6 figures.

Funny thing is I left an app review on Google play store a while back saying they are greedy and what not. WN replied back saying they would take my review into consideration then released the fast pass BS. Lmao! Come on WN.

Oh yeah. Some originals don't follow that dumb and irritating looping plot pattern that translated books follow which is probably why I seek out originals more than translated to read.

                          MotivatedSloth
HAHAHAHAHHA..... Are you saying I'm a pirate? then you are no exception. let me tell you why. In this platform most of the novels are translated ones. but does the Chinese and Korean authors target you English and other languages people as a target? No. they are targeting their own people. anyway, where we were? yes, do you have any f*cking evidence that provide that the translator have the right from the original author?( yeah of course few of those translators may have the right from the author, but you can count them by one hand) let me guess....

you fcking don't have any sht.

please don't talk about other when YOU ARE ONE OF THEM.
sorry for my bad language, but you used it first๐Ÿ˜‡
