      nmendes066 I don't write on Wattpad anymore as there're no readers there for me. Hasn't been for a long time. Webnovel has a lot of vocal readers that is if you write to the mainstream here. There is a higher chance for readers here than Wattpad. At least for me it was the case.

        So I am new to the site and I just feel like it's super difficult to even get readers let alone reviews. There is zero engagement on my book and it kind of demotivated me because I am writing sorely for the readers and you all can relate to how busy we all are. My issue i that I am not a native English speaker and that is what may effect my writing to an extent.

        Is it me or it's the same with everyone here? When ever I think of new ideas I just starts assuming my book will be super popular with the readers with how unique it is but later it leaves me disappointed to see my book not getting any recognition and readers not engaging with my book or trying to interact with me.

        I don't want to drop my book yet because i feel it has the potential but at this rate how no one is showing any kind of interest I might just drop it.

          It's that kind of experience with original concepts and innovative writing. It's a lot harder to convince readers to commit to originals at this place because readers here are light readers. They only have enough time to read what they already know. It's the reason that trope and clichés work well here. The energy to invest in new originals is thin. And the search function is buggy and not in favor of new originals. It leaves a chunk of the catalog undiscovered.

          So keep writing and finishing the story even knowing it might not be read. A writer is as good as their next story. You can get better over time if you keep writing and reading to learn more about writing.

          Also renowned authors have faced similar situations and asked similar questions. Brandon Sanderson wrote 13 books without making a single sale on them. So this indicates they weren't being discovered and read. If he gave up back then, he wouldn't be the author he is today.

I honestly just realise that I was the one who started the novel and I enjoyed writing it cuz ever since I started writing my novel. Honest to God, I have not seen any novel worth reading to me.

The author of the book Daughters of House Castellan, have been sent contract invitation twice, yet she did not sign it because she said she is writing for fun. unless a better offer goes by, I think. But, yeah, you don't have to be pressured by being a great writer if you are writing for yourself.

                        Veronica8 I get annoyed at how the original books don't get any recognition. Still, books that are repeated off the same concept are everywhere on Webnovel and get so much recognition. Since romance is so popular, I'm trying to make an original with Romance incorporated; so far, I only have four people who added it into their library...It isn't encouraging. I would love to have some responsive readers. I write for fun, but I'm here to improve too. I would love to maybe get some feedback from them instead of just sitting around trying my best to make a book without knowing if the readers like it or not. Maybe I have my expectations too high and shouldn't expect them to give feedback at all. Well, I just wanted to get that off my chest, and I totally agree with your opinion.
