Hey for no reason I started getting Messages in Inbox Titled A Super Gift about Random People donating 5000 coins to random novels - Why? How to stop getting these messages?
Random Messages In Inbox
It's really annoying and the purpose of flexing a novel has wealthy fans is not really clear to me. Is Webnovel trying to make people feel bad for not having 5000 coins to spare gifting his/her favorite novel?
Why do I, as a reader should be interested to know that user @XXXprettyflower15 donated 5k coins to his/her favorite novel? A random novel I don't even have in my library? Why should I be notified about it?
As feedback, it's the "more annoying" form of promoting a novel ever @webnovelofficial.
Really annoying. but it would be different matter if it were for our novel.

Not really a good thing to be advertised as the author getting castles of coins. People tend to grow resentful and suspicious of this type of marketing. If it's not made out of bonus coins, it's frigging 100 bucks. Is there a lot of generous whales out there, right? Throwing 100 bucks at novels as if they were confetti.
And... There is another thing that bugs me on it.
I mean, I was really surprised and glad when my novel earned a nice expensive gift (and even more thrilled when a reader sent me my first and generous kofi). But ALL gifts are worthy.
The old 5 coins balloon was worthy. This reader took a part of their little stash of coins to give me out of their generosity. But WN makes it look like only 5000 coins are "worthy".
Not every reader can donate 5000 coins at once.
What if readers start to think their little gifts aren't showy enough?
It's weird, indeed. Unnecessary and possibly even counter-productive as SrtaA mentioned.
So they started these frequent annoying notifications (technically "Messages") that can't be turned off. I really love Webnovel
This is what happens when you let Daoists who take pills to advance their cultivation design and operate a website.
Perhaps if people start flooding their helpdesk demanding to turn off they'll understand it's just intrusive.
Actually, since I already know their intent behind it, I'm more curious if it's even real. Are these real written works getting paid that by real users? Or are they just bots the programmers created out of thin air?
Make it stop Please! It went from 2 yesterday to 10 in just a few hours today - Can't we do anything about this?
YulongYuXianTaiyin Probably bots.
I just can't believe it's real.
SrtaA Is there a way to stop them? It suddenly started 2 days ago and it's continously becoming more annoying
ChiefGamer webnovel only care about money, not you're complaint :D
Webnovel staff is too busy trying to introduce the golden ticket and silence your opinions on novels to bother about some small problem like personal space.
There are more and more messages now.....

[unknown] If you look carefully, you can see authors exchanging castles with each other. I can't even blame them though because Webnovel created such an environment and they're doing what they have to in order to stand out. But it does create resentment in people getting annoyed by the notifications.
melonbread didn't notic that but yeah It is extremely annoying
