Very unprofessional to cancel immediately with no warning. It was not even advertised as a beta but a full-fledged feature.

【Important Announcement】Monthly Elite subscriptions adjustment
So.... When will you guys return the Elite subscription? I've registered and subscribed for this app, paying more than $30 monthly just to enjoy unlimited access no matter how expensive it is and now you guys are telling us that you'll revoke the Elite subscription??? This is more costly than Netflix, yet I still subscribed since I'm a huge fan, but you guys are telling us that 30bucks plus is still not enough?! How disappointing... You should have came up with a better marketing plan and gotten your finance team to formulate a better plan before you started charging people... $30 monthly is already unreasonable, yet people who love this app still diligently purchased it monthly and now you've gone and revoked it! Tsk.... Really really disappointed. My card has already been charged, how the hell am i gonna get a refund??!! Refund us or return the Elite subscription!
This is absolutely ridiculous, the chapters that we've read should at least be unlocked because it's absolutely ridiculous that I had premium and I read through all those chapters and now I can't go into re read those because they're locked now and it's going to cost me soul stones which I didn't buy because I didn't think that the membership was going to expire. For those authors that where seeing a drop in income maybe make it so that where the chapters have to be unlocked with ss but have it be like a 75% reduction for members or something so that way it a super small amount of ss, but just straight up ripping membership especially the short notice not a very good idea especially with how expensive it was priced in the 1st place. Also there was no official announcement that I could see or even noticed on the app that this was happening because I'm not a person that normally checks the forums a lot. I just noticed this post because I was like what happened to my membership I should check the forums to see what's going on and I see this post. Feeling quite peeved probly not gonna wanna buy the next membership for a while just because this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. This was extremely poorly handled there should have been a much clearer notice at least that this was happening.
WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL At this point i highly doubt anyone actually reads this thread. But i just want to keep it at the top of the forum, so that webnovel staff is constantly reminded of the money they lose because all this upset people are reading the novels at very accessable pirate sites.
Dont understand why it was necessary to switch off the service. If you need to make changes then do it? Like how long are your processes for executives decisions. Wow
deacon_burns tbh, unlocking all the read chapters under the subscription was never an option for webnovel to give you. There's no way to tell if someone speed read through a ton of chapters or loaded a bunch to read later on.

klmorgan while I can understand authors need to look out for themselves (most can't do this for free, no argument there) that is just not a good deal for the consumer.
Think about it this way, I pay $18 a month for Netflix(4K, etc) for that I get all the shows on Netflix, not 'select 10 shows or movies' for the month.
Honestly getting an amount based on ranking is just realistic, no company is ever going to pay the little guy as much as the AAA huge popular authors. Print authors don't just expect to make money from books that don't sell.
That being said, I hope there is some solution found that benefits everyone without just making the subscription service into another version
of buying SS, unlimited or nothing at all.
honestly. i prefer this app because it's the first novel app i have since it launched. but if it continues like this i have to think other app for sure.

Whelp I was just reading one of my novels when I went to the next chapter it wanted me to unlock it and was like wtf I thought I had a sub so I could read without having to unlock. There wasn't anything on the app saying that subs had gone away and nothing on the main website either. I only managed to find this thread by googling webnovel elite subs.
Disappointed in this quality of life going away. Guess its back to the underground railroad for releases. At least with elite subs I could support the writers but there's no way I will spend 60+ USD on stones for unfinished work. And work that has tons of grammatical errors, spelling errors, etc.
NookNatu03 u go to playstore/googleplay website. there's a "subscribe" section for u to turn it off
I suggest users to go on google play/app store and give webnovel a review so that other users can beware of other problems. Also it’ll lower their stars. Maybe a bunch of negative reviews will finally get their attention.
Not paying a single $ on this website until we get some clarity / some sort of response. This is beyond unacceptable level of communication.
Don't know how many of you guys are aware of Webnovel Official Twitter Account and their Own Content Director YUREN_LIU_YO is also on Twitter and from the looks of it he seems to give a prompt reply. Also there is actual tweet by Webnovel on 14.03.2019 which attached a London Book Fair and topic shown on tweet is MICRO-TRANSACTIONS or SUBSCRIPTION ?

The inherent problem is that the SS system contradicts with a subscription system. It's also tied to the payout of people. Because, "It works in China". If they ratio'ed the payout based on chapters read, then all the popular authors would naturally earn less than the newer authors that the subs sampled.
WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL I just wished it to be back. Anyway we'll be buying the membership fee, for those who are willing. And for those who cannot afford just wait for the rewards. But for an addict reader like me who spent whole day and night reading it's really a pity. It's good that I'm stingy from giving too much gifts (I'm only gifting those of my most most love novels 
and keep the daily rewards.) So think I can only minimize my reading habit from now on 
When Kindle Unlimited only costs around $12/Mo for access to full books, you guys charging $25/Mo for similar access to periodicals is already approaching a ridiculous price but marginally acceptable so if you have some authors complaining, maybe they've gotten a bit greedy because it's doubtful the ones doing the complaining are putting out significant or quality work to begin with.
