I did not really care about about Privilege at first but now I really hate it. It's messed with my Library and I can't keep track of my novels since the amount chapters is different then it appears... Sigh

Cantiara Why would they do that. They are here to non stop try to entice fools into spending their money hand over fist. If the fools are not constantly reminded about how many chapters they arn't able to read right now then how would they trick... I mean convince them to spend money to read them. The funny thing is that NO ONE has noticed the REAL issue on this. IT only works ONCE. Once you have read all the future chapters you once again ONLY get normal chapter release rate. You get nothing extra. You end up paying an extra LARGE amount of money to read these few chapters and then get nothing EXTRA for it. Also, from what I have read on the forums some people are saying IT only works on ONE LN.

SorcererCat I know. But to their credit, they did listen to the negative feedbacks from the people here about the ambiguous sentences on the Privilege page as well as the Privilege rules and as per people's suggestions, they updated these pages accordingly to make it clearer to their customers. So I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt that they still want to improve their customer relationship. If they don't, then as per my argument before, their business won't be sustainable in the long run.

I completely understand that this is a choice to pay for these "early" chapters - what really rubs me the wrong way is that it makes it seem like the translators/authors had ALL these chapters the whole time but were trickling out 2 chapters a day and stringing the readers along until the opportunity to get their readers to pay more came along and BAM! 50+ chapters are now available. This is the part that makes the whole thing seem incredibly greedy IMO. I think webnovel could have timed this new system better (like seriously releasing the news of xin hitting $10k + this privilege system at the same time?! Wow. At least give us time to be happy for the author and make her the butt of some jokes out there) because it seems pretty tone-deaf to the readers.
Anyways, pay if you got the stones but know that you just got to KEEP paying.

Paying upwards of 2500 spirits for bonus (50) chapters, then still having to pay the spirits to unlock each chapter which would be another 600 Spirits. Goddamn that awful.

When I open the app I want to know how many chapters I have unread on a book. I canāt tell now because you list the amount available with Privelege and that varies story to story. One may have 54 chapters ahead and another 35. Itās impossible to keep track of and has rendered the actual count I have available useless. I donāt have hundreds of dollars to burn on buying Privelege but I do give you some money for SS so please do something different for the count. Maybe list the number of Privelege chapters separately.

For those buying provilage. I advise to only buy upto 15 chaps or the second privilage. The other once are not worth paying for and will only incur significant loss

honestly at this point, either hire an actual expert who could come up with a good payment plan that doesn't make you lose 99% of your readers, or just adopt the "Patreon" system, set up community goals for release rate, and those who support get the advance chapters, but all this lock and unlock deal is just impossible.
And its a fair game, if the novel is popular, readers will support it, if it isn't, well it won't get support, simple as that.
CKtalon Itās all well and good for a privilege to be accessible only to the select few who are willing to purchase it. However all those examples you gave - the VIP lounges, the business class plane tickets, the VIP concert tickets etc. ALL have a CLEAR advantage to the paying customers. Your privilege system DOESNāT. From the look of things, these āprivilege readersā are paying hundreds, if not thousands, of SS to see the titles of chapters they donāt actually have access to. Why not reduce the cost of the chapters which are STILL locked after purchasing the privilege (instead of keeping it at the same price that non-privilege readers pay) OR reduce the cost of the privilege itself? From the point of view of the majority of readers here, this system has no clear advantages or benefits, itās just an excessive cost for a non-existent right. Therefore, it is not a privelege. Stop throwing that word around.
The novels that signed up for privilege now reflect that they were updated 5 or 6 days ago. I think maybe that's the day they went "privilege" and now even the latest regular releases are dated to show they are "stale." Maybe it's WN's way to get under people's skin so they're always aware they're not reading the latest stuff. If they can't trick any more people into signing up for it, maybe they're banking on irritating people enough to shell out cash? 
if it was only to pay to get advance chapters i would not really mind and actually suport it but now you pay too read 10 Chapters a head of others fine but you haw to pay 1000s for reading a head Sertan number of chapters but you also haw to pay ageen for each Chapter after you All ready pay-de once to read a head lol That is just Greedy

FleetingClouds In theory, they keep getting released at the usual rate so if a novel gets completed you just have to wait longer than the privileged people to read the end.
You pay for privilege to reading ahead but you pay more to unlock chapter. Just for one book
Privilege is to unlock advance chapters. Once a novel ends, there will be no more advance chapters, so logically speaking, the Privilege program for that particular novel should also end.
When will this annoying, shameful and scamming 'Privileged Chapters' end? It's basically keeping the already translated chapters hostage. What a rotten and moronic way of squeezing out more money.

Kni8ht Viz's Shonen Jump manga site allows readers to read everything in their library for $1.99 per month. Of course, it's manga instead of web novels, but it's legal way to support the authors and artists and a lot cheaper than web novel. You can also read the first three and most recent three chapters of a series for free.
It isn't web novels, but it's perfectly legal and might be something you consider jumping ship to. For a reading addiction, it's much cheaper.

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL I just talked to my lawyer and I was told to say this, if it is a per month service that I am paying for then it is for access to 50 new advances chapters per month. Since if that is not the case you have broken both EES and Icelandic law, and I am able to sue.
It is illegal in the EES trading area and iceland to sell the same product twice to a consumer.

Bro I've been so productive, I have 465 free SS LOL. Just use free ss for privilege, and you're the one actually at an advantage.
Privileged description mentions chapters will still be released at usual rate barring circumstances but for some novels like mystical journey, the translator stopped regular release and only releases on privilege.
It just proves that translators can take advantage of this and that webnovel is in short selling a lie which is unethical or they should change the wording

I recently privileged on a novel out of desperation for chapters and I feel absolutely taken advantage of. I payed for the right to purchase advance chapters, but now if I stop giving Webnovel my money, starting next month I wont have access to any chapters I haven't already read for up two months.
It's completely predatory. I warned so many people and in the end I still get preyed on as well.
