Then never visit another forum, ever. Sloth isn't a webnovel employee, he's another user same as you and I, and if one user pissing in your corn flakes causes you to pull all stakes, best leave the internet now.

They tried that with the subscription service and it screwed authors. So it was removed.

Why do people still compare different media prices?
Why do not compare webnovel chapters to webseries or podcast paid episodes? Why do compare to printed books or downloadable digital books?
Also: how can you put price into an incomplete work, that can be 100k or 1m words (meaning hours of hard work from it's author, editor and translators)?
Don't you ever saw casual games such as Happy Farm or whatever it's named? You receive some coins for free everyday, and can expand your farm or join the daily tasks and special events. If your coins end, you either choose to wait for the next reset for more free coins, or pay for extra coins with real cash. As the game is ever expanding, of course it ends up being far expensive compared to a downloadable game that is complete.
The business model is the same for webnovels. But even my mom, who +60yo and is a hardcore player of such games, can understand why it has to be this way.

I'm glad about the membership option, but I still
have a certain question/suggestion on its development in the future:
So here I go... why can't Webnovel offer a couple of 'different' memberships? It shouldn't be to hard to offer a customized membership, like for example:
- Iron membership = 310 coins a month + 1 Power and Energy Stones each day.
- Silver membership = 465 coins a month + 2 Power and Energy Stones each day.
- Gold membership = 620 coins a month + 3 Power and Energy Stones each day.
(And also, different profile customization for each different membership, gold boarders around gold members like an example).
I would sincerely be happy to see something like mentioned above implemented into the platform

I'm in no way representing Webnovel or authors or readers in this discussion, just giving out few cents of my opinion.
And no, I won't hold back my words. If someone act like and idiot, I will point that out and follow with lenghty explanation detailing the lapses in the logic to ultimately bring them to a conclusion where I show what kind of preasumption is idiotic, earning them the name I used.

Zatara That's actually a pretty good idea, but I don't think that increase in powerstones would be fair.
All in all, this site is now leaning more toward paying users. If you add voting rights bound to how much you pay, you will make the top dogs even harder to reach by us, the new, bad and abhored authors.
Current membership does not give me much advantages and privileges. Only 500coins once and 10 coins daily.
What else do I get to pay monthly membership fee??? At the moment nothing much. I still have to buy coins out use fast pass if I want to read more chapters.
So membership is useless. I will be cancelling my membership next month if there is no improvement by then.

As one of the first people to use this site when it came out, i saw what they were doing with the free lance translators and saw this day coming from a mile. i had stopped using this website after they took out the original names in Chinese that would give the read a chance to check out the original novel and translate it themselves if they felt the need. Now I saw my original decision was right and this site, a waste of my time. for the pass couples months i have been translating the original novels that i came across and i have not looked back since. those of you who are like me, who love reading but have neither money or time with this system. try to translate them yourself and leave this site alone.

Did you ask the authors for permission? You do realize you can't just translate original works without asking the author, right? 
8ne Honestly I don't care about WN new system at all save for the one reason you just addressed. According to the translator of Pursuit of Truth, word from high up was it was popular enough to be hidden behind the new pay wall. Fine, I sure don't like it, but I ain't gonna hold it against a company trying to make money, and definitely not against the translator. So long as I waited for the chapters to be released later at the cost of one of those daily tickets I was okay with it, but we are now less than 30 chapters away from the completion of the novel and a week has passed with no new releases. I like to do things the legal way, so I'll wait a few more weeks but if WN doesn't at least let me use my daily tickets to get through the last few I will find it elsewhere, and I'll probably be able to because Qidian set the precedent of free chapters and then slowly rolled that back. What I think they didn't understand about western audiences is that would do nothing but u push the majority of us away. I won't do it, but I'm positive this move has pissed someone, somewhere off enough to just pay the 8 bucks for the first month, copy and paste EVERYTHING and then upload it to a bunch of websites. I'll just find that guys work. As per usual the true victims are the translators. The more popular your novel gets, the more microtransaction BS is thrown in your work, the more readers start to turn on you. Other than Pursuit of Truth I only really read one other novel on WN consistently, so in the end I don't really care if WN wants to burn itself to the ground, but I will not be returning once those two are done for sure.
