The amount of shameless promotion/review swap threads are spamming the forums and clogging it up, preventing actual discussion from happening. To solve that issue, this thread will be pinned/created each month. (Though the month of January is ending soon, this is a test run to see how it goes.)

You may promote your novel in this thread & review swap as well.

HOWEVER

  1. Each novel link may only be posted 1 time per month for shameless promoting. If it is done more than that, your posts will be deleted and warnings will be given. If warnings do not work and you continue to do so, your account will be temporarily suspended. (in accordance to how many offenses of spam) This excludes review swaps-- when you are trading reviews with other people, you may drop your link along with your request so that the swaps can go smoothly.

  2. If you are requesting a review swap with multiple people at the same time, reply to all of them in ONE POST with your novel link If not, you will be given a warning and your posts will be deleted/reformatted

  3. From now on, all threads containing promoting/review swaps that are not this thread WILL BE LOCKED. Do not spam/create/promote/review swap in any other threads than this one. This ensures that the forum will stay clean. If there are multiple offenses from one user, the will be given warnings/suspended as well.

  4. If you are a reader requesting for specific recommendations that is okay, but whether or not your thread will be locked will be under my discretion. I generally determine if a thread is a genuine recommendation thread if the reader is asking for a specific kind of novel, and if the novel links dropped all fit the request. If not, it will be considered a shameless promo thread and locked. The age of the thread will also be taken into consideration (the older it is, the more posts there are, the higher chance of getting locked). In the end, it's all about intent.

  5. Unique promotion/recommendation threads will be allowed if it's presented in the form of a game/other entertaining manner that is different than just dropping links.

  6. For ever WPC held, one promotion thread may be created by another user. The moment the contest is over, however, the thread will get locked.

  7. To clarify, it is okay to share your novel link on other threads if someone asks for it, or the purpose is not for promotion/review swap. Therefore, if someone asks for original romances, and you happen to write an original romance, then you can drop your link in that thread. Or, if you're talking about a novel you're currently writing to drop writing advice, and someone is interested in reading your novel/asks for it, you can drop it as well. The only thing not allowed is dropping your links for review/shameless promo.

The whole point of this is anti-spam, so to reiterate and repeat myself again DO NOT SPAM THIS THREAD, OR ANY OTHER ONE. Your spam of novel links is equivalent to violating the forum rules of no spam.

                I come to this forum everyday looking for post to read and I find absolutely nothing meaningful except those thread asking for reviews, there I find new books to read ..books I didn't know existed and you want to shut it down for what? ..spamming 🙄 please.

                I'm new here so maybe there's a certain policy or so, but i have recommendations book which I earn money from. The book is on wattpad (Wattpad Best Romance Book) and it has over 5million views.

                I get paid anytime a reader view an ad inserted by wattpad and I also have a review book titled (Bookish reviews).

                Aside from me, there are tons of books like mine and wattpad never lock/ban nor call them spamming and neither did they say it's occupying the space of real books.

                I'm planning on creating a recommendations book here and seeing this thread and the already locked ones which I guess are your handwork ..well, I don't want to say much until I'm done learning all there is to learn about web novel.

                Please kindly go and unlock those thread you locked, just because they gave you the power doesn't mean you should overuse it.

                    Just so you know, she did it upon request of several frequent WN forum-goers who are fed up with the many loose promotion threads that have been popping up int he forum quite a lot recently. Not to mention those who were necroing multiple old threads one after another. Necroing one or two old threads is fine, but when you necroed as many as twenty old threads just to post the same link to your novel over and over again (yes, people have done this), it clogged up the first page of the forum and it becomes intrusive for many other forum-goers. It is spamming. So, she isn't overusing her power as a moderator by locking those threads. She is only making the forum tidy to make it a pleasant place for everyone to visit. And she has been assigned as a moderator by WN exactly to do this kind of thing.

                    And why is it a problem that all the novel promotion requests are grouped in just one central post every month? It would only make it easier for you to find new books to read, as you only have to browse ONE thread instead of the many loose threads scattering around the forum for book recommendations.

                      Yue is only doing the things she is doing because she has been explicitly been given orders to do so. And the forums are significantly better for the changes she is helping enforce. This place has been so unbearably spam-filled that most of us veterans have left it entirely. It's not supposed to be that way, and Yue is doing a great job of changing that for the better.

                      If you are unhappy with how the forum is being managed, you are always welcome to promote your story somewhere else.

                          Exactly because you are new, that you don't understand how annoying it is to have tens of the same spammed "review my book" posts that flood the forum, blocking any kind of meaningful discussion from happening.

                          What's wrong with a centralized location to post your promotions? It's pinned so it will always be there, ready for anyone to scroll through the list of novels. There's nothing stopping you from posting your promotion here.

                          It's been far too long that things have been left to run wild on this forum, and personally Yaoyueyi is taking steps to fix that. So before you start complaining and demanding for views (which you obviously are), think a little as to why this was created.
