SuperSilentSin

38 collections isn't much at all.

6 chapters is nothing, that's the size of average prologue introducing to the story, rather than the story in itself.

10k words means you are unable to even hit the new ranking (you need at least 15k words published to be listed there) which is the only and most important venue for new authors to promote their novel and gain exposure.... So your votes doesn't matter at all now. Also: People can vote up to 3 times a day from a single account, so keep that in mind.

Honestly speaking, 38 collections at such a early stage is rather good, but when I see the update rate... Eh, I know that not everyone is as hardworking as me, but let me in on a tip - all the nicely earning authors publish AT LEAST daily, with quite a bit of them writing more than a single novel at once. 3 chapters a week is nothing. Thats how much people write daily. Here is your reason why other novels might be more popular.

tigre900 okay that would explain why the comments suddenly stopped. even though my collections are still growing... the last chapter got me 12 new ones and let me reach 50 ....

ThousandStarlights thx that helped me a lot. I mostly read translated novels and only a few popular originals that is why I never thought about it this way... I will rewrite the synopsis. It was much longer in the beginning but then I noticed that my novel somehow drifted away from the synopsis because I only have a broad outline for this novel... So i wrote a shorter one as a placeholder until I come up with something good ...

MotivatedSloth yeah I know that it is not much ouput. But don't forget pls that I am not contracted yet. I guess if I was, I could most likely produce 10 - 14 chapters per week...

SuperSilentSin same comments stopped and collections continued. No way to know if any real people are reading the story unless you can talk to them and they reply.

AI380 yeah.. unlike wattpad, we can't see who put our book inside their library. I don't see anything wrong with that. It can help to avoid confusion with bot too if we know who keep our book in their library.

MotivatedSloth indeed. While once a week can be enough to maintain a reading base, it's not enough to get a contract. I believe it requires 1500 words a day or something. Definitely want to be showing WN that you can meet the terms of the contract before they will be willing to offer you one.

ThousandStarlights i wonder the words count is for english writer or Chinese writer. You see.. i checked about this before, but, word count for chinese is different than english. If chinese is 1500 words, english is only around , 800 and more words like that.

              Correct me if i'm wrong.

Carciphones_02 You are almost certainly right, but not sure the ratio there. In any case, aim for what the typical contract requirements are as a minimum.

ThousandStarlights Used to write 2-3 chapters a week, still got a contract. It's not just update speed/word count per day that WN cares about. Furthermore, the contract doesn't require 1.5k words a day-- only if you are aiming for Minimum Guarantee System (MGS) will you have to do so, and MGS only lasts for four months. No one is forced to publish that many words a day in the contract.

AI380 excuse there are probably quite a few people i can ask this but I clicked on your name and here i am.... I am currently writing my first novel or maybe light novel would be more accurate. So how would I upload it to web novel
