Ok...so, I got these complaints from readers concerning Authors who don't update frequently and some completely stop updating for long before resuming, while others prolong their stories a lot just so people keep paying to read and all the like.
So, my question is, what do we Authors think about this and what can we really tell them?
For me, I think the only reason readers will visualize that way is that they are not in the Author's shoes. they can't completely understand the obsession some Authors experience thinking about satisfying their readers and killing themselves (I'm talking specifically about updates).
On the other side, readers are right because some of the authors don't try to put in the effort. But I won't say they don't care. They're just lazy. And that drives us to the fact that writing is not easy. You may have the ideas, but to put it down with an interesting and understandable plot is something else which is something no Author wants to joke with because their story developed from there.
It takes all your time and energy for those who are dedicated. Not to forget, some authors are part-time while others are full time. But we could try to make a change or create a solution to that.
I discovered the snowflakes method of writing from a well known best seller writer. It works for me and I believe it will work for those who want to give it a try. I can't completely expatriate it here but if you want to find out more, you could comment below and I'll give you the link. It's more about organizing your plan to a story where each stage has branches and branches until you completely break it down and evolve with a clear analog that helps ease your writing and pours out your story to the fullest. At the end of the day, you'll discover you were given a brief explanation of every scene in your story.
For the second complaint, I will say, yes! Some Authors actually elongate their story to an exaggerated ending just so, they could boost their title or earn more. While, at some point, readers say a lot that they don't know of. Like, they just want to look for every excuse to put down an Author when they tolerate it with another Author.
One thing I will give once more is if I complain a story is too long, means it became boring for me at a point. And that's something we Authors should fully check on. If you feel you reached your limit about something, no matter what don't force it. Just because you saw an Author writing these numbers of episodes or series, doesn't mean you can. We are all different.
Again, readers please understand we Authors are not the same and will never be. There are things you'll receive from an Author which matches your taste but do not expect to find it everywhere or elsewhere.
Hope these answered some request and doubts.
