Ansh Exactly, people are saying they follow 40 novels and can't afford to keep up with them all.
All I can think is : reading 40 chapters would take me 3 hours. This means they get 3 hours of reading for free every day. But they're all too addicted and cheapass to buy some spirit stones to support. Absolutely ridiculous.
Literally work for a day : earn 100$ , have 5 months of premium novels. Worth it? Yes. If you go drinking / bowling / eating in a restaurant .... You'll always spends >20$ for a night. 20$ gives you more than 20 hours of reading novels. Stop saying its too expensive, you just have to see it as a hobby. And hobbies are expensive.

- When it came out I though locked chapters would be chill like 1-2 a week, didn't think it was 1 out of 2 would be locked and if you unlock 10 you have to wait 10 days so free chapters catch up to you. So yea they are pushing a bit hard I think. It doesn't matter if it's cheaper than going out or expensive. The thing is nobody else does it. It's inconvenient. All I can say is I see piracy around the corner and it's coming fast :D :D
piracy is aready working.....hard to find but its already there; the strongest system for example is complete on the net (FREE & COMPLETE) and theres also some rough translations of strongest gene.....i almost cry when i found strongest system without adds and shit....like...before, like..... in other webnovel sites that existed before and will go on longer than quidian (if they go on with this); its a pity, this site was great, but the cost of read any premium novel here its not worth,( its cheaper buy a whole book; not the same as here..ok, but there are lots of publised novels of those genres) .I only hope the staff to find that famous medicine for regret before its too late
I have to agree with one thing though, that waiting for 10 days after unlocking 10 chapters for a free chapter really sucks. I really do wish that there was something like where your daily free chapter unlocks the oldest unlocked chapter so that i dont have to wait for 10 days.
Coshak Do they unlock chapters? I was under the impression they did, but then I binged Strongest Gene and realized that they have 70 locked chapters.
My conclusion was that chapters are only unlocked at the whim of TGIF. I came to the forums hoping someone will prove me wrong--are there just 70 set premium chapters that unlock 1 or two per day for Super Gene and an arbitrary number for the rest of the premium novels? Or are we that one step closer to a paywall?
just a few numbers:
- 50 power stones 0.99Eur wich means 5/6 pages
- 420,000 words for George R.R. Martin's latest book, 5000 pages= 5.99Eur (e-book price online in spain)
so 40 pages of a premium webnovel from some more or less known writers ( good writers, no doubt about that;...but not as known as George R.R. Martin ) cost the same as 5000 pages of an e-book by a best-seller writer
even without piracy and counting that everybody can or want to "donate" by your "pricing" to read a novel with the lengt of 5000 pages could cost 1000 euros......what a goob book it should be...
As people mentioned above, just do not unlock chapters and get caught in the loop of having to spend spirit stones all the time. The chapters come out for free but just at a slower rate. I understand it can be hard to control yourself if you are in the middle of an exciting arc, but if you just be patient and stop when you reach the locked chapter you will not find yourself running out of spirit stones or having to wait weeks before you get the next " free" chapter since you already bought so many locked chapters.
And for those who can afford the spirit stones, spend them by all means, what are you even doing here? >.>

A less outrageous price per chapter ?
Avoiding giving different price for each novels ?
Or maybe just put out a flat subscription service that give you access to it.
Ads is already alright to bring money.
But they still need to satisfy their fan.
It's not China where lot of people love webnovel.
It's the rest of the world.
Where most don't even know about webnovels.
They need to adapt their business to the aimed target. Basic business right ?
I don't say they should remove premium, bu limiting the amount of chapters in front of you would be enough.
I mean 10 to 20 are alright but a 100 locked is just a dick move.
10 to 20 won't mean much in the story.
But a 100 could start a whole new arc.
So... I was saving my spirit stones until it reach 1k and only use it when there's a cliffhanger.
And then,i just found out that there's this "expired" thing on spirit stones too.
I feel like they're forcing us to use the spirit stone.
The other day i lost 99 spirit stones cause of expired.

Morinu I almost agree with you I can pay to unlock chapters and I would but the system is shit I mean I would totally pay for SS to unlock chapters if I can keep getting my free chapter a day too, but if I pay for 100 chapters, next what? I have to keep paying for all the novel and there are chinese novels with 2 or 3 thousand chapters or not getting anymore a chapter a day for three months till qidian catch up with me, I'm totally in for this system but that flaw is just too much you should get a free chapter after a day summing up the chapters you unlock otherwise except if you are goong to pay for all chapters till the end of the book you would end up having to wait anyway all the days that you paid no to wait, just later
