I was ok with premium being a thing.. Locking 5-10 chapter seemed alright...
But 20 ? 30 ? A 100 ?!
The non premium series are slowing down and the best series are being dropped in mass...
For the first time in my life as a reader I wasn't excited to binge read IRAS...
Library of Heaven's path, the all time number 1 series on this website was at 12 stones per chapter... From the first day i came to this website to this moment I accumulated 500 stones that i spent for daily chapter... All went down in one day... Because of one series...
If i want to read, I needed to buy stones...
Basically the poor are boycotting the top series and the one with money are enjoying premium low quality service.

    Spirit stones is an addiction mechanic. Without spirit stones and only reading free chapters you get 1-2 chapters per novel, which is the same if you have caught up to locked chapters already anyway! But what if you are caught up to locked chapters and are out of spirit stones? Cough up more money or wait days/weeks for your next free chapter. Fx. I’ve just found out strongest system has 40 locked chapters, which means I get no free chapters for 20 days straight. So don’t buy spirit stones and get caught in this addiction mechanic

      YueZise what you don't understand is that the novels are OWNED by Quidian and they are not obliged to make them affordable for you. Moreover they have no incentive to do so if they make a bigger profit. The most you can do is to not buy spirit stones. So it is of no use acting like a sulky child

          i have 15+ novels in my library atm. 4 are premium, 2 will turn premium soon. Most cost around 7sp per chapter, some update 2 chapters a day. so ill need at least 40+ sp per day pretty soon. one of my favorite novels has chapters that cost over 10 sp per chapter, maximum was 17 for one that was (thank good!) the one that unlocked for free the first day after it went premium ...
          lets stick with that and do a calculation :D free dayly sp will go to the novels that get more then one chapter per day, even though it doesnt really cover the costs.

          40 sp per day
          280 sp per week
          1120 sp per month

          1000sp are at 20 USD
          and that is the minimum ill need to keep up with my favorite storys.
          i read somewhere, that 1 sp is for 200-300 words, so i get somewhere around 250.000 words for that.

          my favorite book i have in my shelf at home has around the same number of words. it cost 8,99 USD, cause i have the soft cover (cheaper) version... i think i should get back to buying more books in stores. One of the main reasons i read online is, that i get a high diversity of books for no/low cost.

          just now reading online got more expensive than buying books. and they dont have to print.

          im ok with watching an add before reading a chapter, even if it was a bit longer. but seeing locked chapters i cant affort is frustrating.

            Kil2 Yeah I found the locked chapters ridiculous too when it came out.

                YueZise you don't need to read LOHP seriously.the story will always repeat itself.you can go look other novels from Amazon.if you must read you can read MTL.it is easy to read.and you don't need to spend stupid stones.

                    Mann just skipp some chapters ....u dnt need to read all ...jst read some with intresting title ... Trust me
                    its best method to keep urself satisfed ...and keeping up with story

                        Aibele just to point out.. It's 8.99 for one book that may be 300 pages.. Which can be read in a few hours.. Buying multiple books per month if you read once a week is 36 a month.. If you must read.. So 36-20 is spending 16 more per month.

                            Ansh Exactly, people are saying they follow 40 novels and can't afford to keep up with them all.

                            All I can think is : reading 40 chapters would take me 3 hours. This means they get 3 hours of reading for free every day. But they're all too addicted and cheapass to buy some spirit stones to support. Absolutely ridiculous.

                            Literally work for a day : earn 100$ , have 5 months of premium novels. Worth it? Yes. If you go drinking / bowling / eating in a restaurant .... You'll always spends >20$ for a night. 20$ gives you more than 20 hours of reading novels. Stop saying its too expensive, you just have to see it as a hobby. And hobbies are expensive.

When it came out I though locked chapters would be chill like 1-2 a week, didn't think it was 1 out of 2 would be locked and if you unlock 10 you have to wait 10 days so free chapters catch up to you. So yea they are pushing a bit hard I think. It doesn't matter if it's cheaper than going out or expensive. The thing is nobody else does it. It's inconvenient. All I can say is I see piracy around the corner and it's coming fast :D :D

                                  YueZise On Qidian's side, they need to becheck profitable to support the writers and its Operations. What payment or spirit stone scheme will be affordable to you other than watching ads to get free chapters? I am just curious.

                                      piracy is aready working.....hard to find but its already there; the strongest system for example is complete on the net (FREE & COMPLETE) and theres also some rough translations of strongest gene.....i almost cry when i found strongest system without adds and shit....like...before, like..... in other webnovel sites that existed before and will go on longer than quidian (if they go on with this); its a pity, this site was great, but the cost of read any premium novel here its not worth,( its cheaper buy a whole book; not the same as here..ok, but there are lots of publised novels of those genres) .I only hope the staff to find that famous medicine for regret before its too late

                                      I have to agree with one thing though, that waiting for 10 days after unlocking 10 chapters for a free chapter really sucks. I really do wish that there was something like where your daily free chapter unlocks the oldest unlocked chapter so that i dont have to wait for 10 days.

                                      Coshak Do they unlock chapters? I was under the impression they did, but then I binged Strongest Gene and realized that they have 70 locked chapters.
                                      My conclusion was that chapters are only unlocked at the whim of TGIF. I came to the forums hoping someone will prove me wrong--are there just 70 set premium chapters that unlock 1 or two per day for Super Gene and an arbitrary number for the rest of the premium novels? Or are we that one step closer to a paywall?

                                          • 50 power stones 0.99Eur wich means 5/6 pages
                                          • 420,000 words for George R.R. Martin's latest book, 5000 pages= 5.99Eur (e-book price online in spain)

                                          so 40 pages of a premium webnovel from some more or less known writers ( good writers, no doubt about that;...but not as known as George R.R. Martin ) cost the same as 5000 pages of an e-book by a best-seller writer

                                          even without piracy and counting that everybody can or want to "donate" by your "pricing" to read a novel with the lengt of 5000 pages could cost 1000 euros......what a goob book it should be...
