If the titles on a novel was not on the cover would you click on the novel solely for the cover?

Every novel I see on the recommendation page or high in power rankings the coves look eerily similar. Yeah, don't judge a book by its cover but that's ninety percent of the reason why I pick a novel. If I see a horrendously drawn cover I think to myself how dare someone draw such an ugly piece of shit and then stick it on a site where millions can view it?click Woah, a cover that only features fruits with faces on itclick. Wow, a cover that only shows playing cardsclick". My gosh bruh, a cover that shows a shadow surrounded by the galaxy back button*.

Title, Synopsis, Chapter Count and Cover Page ( somewhere else, it shows all before you click, idk about here since I don't read here )

If the title is generic, like having emperor, sword, god, war, nation, etc etc. I will never touch on it.

If the synopsis is mentally ill I will never touch it.

If it's thousands of chapters I will never touch.

If the cover page is of someone holding a sword, has a women in the background or surronded by many, etc. I will never touch.

This system has saved me from hundreds of god damn bad novels.

Synopsis, genre, tags, the content of top-rated reviews

    minorly title and cover

really, people shouldn't pay attention to the cover. most of them are misleading bullshit, even if they were commissioned. For example, "I reincarnated as a stick" has a barefoot anime woman with a sword on a cover. Is she the mc? no. the mc is a stick. so why is she on a cover? Because the author insults reader's intelligence and tries to appeal to horny teens.

For me, it is cover, title and tags, since you will probably only be able to read the story full summary after clicking it.

Tags go for my personal tastes, so it doesn't really matter.

The title is surprisingly important, since it is literally the story's name, so it should be somewhat memorable and catchy.

Finally the cover, it is function should be giving a very vague feel of the story, it may be the story's tone, characters, etc. And to be able to attract attention. That is very important.

I look at their cover and how well written/interesting their synopsis is. If none of the two convince me, I look at their most detailed, worst review.

(The ones that are normally paragraphs long, 3 stars and below, and very angry about something)

If they don't mention anything unforgivable like say a brain dead protagonist, a rapey ML, plot holes the size of Jupiter, or inconsistencies in the characters - then I'll read it. If they do then nope.

And if I don't find any negative reviews, I'm not sure what to expect, so I probably won't read it either.

The cover, synopsis and review. If the cover looks like almost every other novel on this platform I won't click on it simply because it looks like an overused aesthetic. If the synopsis has obvious grammatical errors or it does not make sense whatsoever then I'm not clicking on it. Lastly the review, the review has to be 3.5 and above, if its not than there are obvious problems with the novel.

I mean, if there was a glitch on webnovel and I couldn't see the title or synopsis then the cover has to be extremely artistic. However, I normally always click on a novel because of the title. The title should revolve around the main point of the story, whatever that is. Yet, I've seen this thing where the title would be something like "The Manufactured Athlete" and the story would end up turning into a harem and barely talk about athletics like it says in the title!

What makes me click on a novel, is the title, synopsis, and book cover.

NGL, if the cover is beautiful, I'll click it.
If the synopsis is mysterious and pokes my curiosity, I'll click it.
If the title is catchy and is resembles something that came out of my wildest dream, I'll click it.

However, in the end, what makes me stay reading, is the plot, execution, and writing, although I doubt that this opinion would matter.

The thing is, you should know that, some people are just idiotic and horny, so if you have a really good cover, title, and synopsis, it is more likely that people would read it.

I click on a novel because of it's synopsis, and reviews that I try not to look at. Really do not look at review before you read a book they just ruin everything. Some guys can be really venemous.
So, the synopsis. There are two things that I cannot stand in a synopsis.
One, anything telling me what the book is supposed to look like at the end. Like, I don't want to know that Human God is the last cultivation realm. I want to slowly find out as the mc grows stronger in the story.
And two, I absolutely positively exponentially HATE IT WHEN THEIR IS ANY MENTION OF A DARNED CONSPIRACY OR A DARNED EVIL PLOT OR A DARNED 'WILL THE MC SAVE HUMANITY OR?'. OR A STUPID 'HE HAS A GREATER PURPOSE THAT HE DOES NOT KNOW' OR 'THE ENTIRE WORLD IS AGAINST HIM' I BETTER GET NONE OF THAT! Okay rant over. I just hate such synopsis so much. Even though I dislike the things I just listed, I would not hate them so much if they were just mentioned in the story itself, as the mc grows. Seriously none of that or else I turn away instantly. In fact I prefer simpler synopsis that just give a general overview of what is happening at the start of the story.

      Dzeeck

No, when the synopsis says nothing about the book or is very vague. A lot fo the times it's just bullshit that has nothing to do with teh book.

Personally for me its title, synopsis, first chapter.

The title should be the first thing that grabs me, usually its concise and catchy, I LOATHE titles which are more in line with the first sentence of the first chapter. If a book doesn't have a title I generally won't even bother cracking the cover. Cover art is pretty but 9 times out of 10 here on webnovel the artistic choice BARELY qualifies as related to what the story is about. Is like staring at an abstract painting, you can guess the artists choice but more often than not its just what they threw at the canvas cause it was somewhat pretty...

Next up is the synopsis which should introduce a character which is interesting and has qualities that should make me interested in giving a damn about their journey. At the same time the first arc shouldn't be detailed laid out in the synopsis.

Lastly is the first chapter. Regardless of interesting opening title, character or story... if the author can't structure the first chapter worth a damn I'm not suffering through it. If you're a writer and don't understand paragraphs, punctuation, spell checking or simply can't be bothered to make the text readable, screw your story. If your first chapter reads like a bad copy and paste mtl I've usually dropped the book before I reach chapter two.
