I really liked this site but i can't deal with this anymore. They started making me pay with 10-15 spirits stones to read a chapter, i thought chapters would eventually became free, so i waited, but they don't. Then i stopped reading the mainstream novels, some of which i really liked, because i cant pay for spirit stones and its impossible to unlock more than one chapter per day with the free spirit stones you can get. Now to my surprise some novels that i started reading because they weren't that well placed in the power level are also being turned into premium novels.
It's really frustrating to see this happen, i'm tired of reading "webnovel is not greedy, they give you free spirit stones", what the hell is this suppose to mean?! that i can read one chapter a day?!
I know that what i'm writting isn't going to change a thing but i really had to leave my opinion.
Webnovel i would be totally fine if this was a patreon kind of thing where you have to wait more compared to those who pay but its not. I hope someday this changes and i can enjoy reading again. If you want to be a payed website, just present yourself like that don't fool around with people because now i have to quit reading a lot of the novels i love because of this system.

I honestly don't mind that they are getting people to pay to read novels. I mean, a lot of people are putting a lot of work in to get these chapters out to us, and I want to support them. However, I do agree that the prices are a little high. I wouldn't mind that they had a subscription system where you can get all premium chapters for a monthly fee, or that chapters were cheaper but mandatory to unlock after a certain point (like the Chinese version of Webnovel). However, as it stands, it's so expensive that I don't want to contribute since it's going to demolish my wallet. For a novel with ~2k chapters, it would cost close to 400$ US if you were going to read it fully premium. Adding the fact novels are constantly going premium and a lot of people read dozens, it really isn't sustainable.

EDIT: As a note, I've been trying to read at most 2-3 premium titles at once so I can sustain them with daily stones and a single payment I made like half a year back where there were 5k bonus stones on a single payment. However, I do not plan on buying more stones unless they change the pricing. I have dropped many novels that have went premium like Strongest Abandoned Son since there are too many characters and it's impossible to keep up with only 1 chapter per day.

They said they would refund me my SS haven't seen them.

Belbute looks like free content to me. Patience doesn't always pay, you have to be smart sometimes. So stop whining and suck it up. get that brain juices running for some Freemium chapters.

Belbute You had said that they don't become free, well, actually they do, I'll tell you how they do it:
let's say there is a total of 500 chapters, and of those 500 there are 100 premium chapters, if there are no new chapters tomorrow there will now be 99 premium chapters, however lets say you purchased 15 chapters into the premium chapters that will mean you must wait 16 days to read a free chapter, because they have to play catch up to where you are with only 1 free per day being the same chapter for all whether you paid for a chapter or not.

DeJeL I have been waiting for the legendary guardian to become free for ages and that isn't happening

bachingchung As I said I tried to do that but a lot of the novels that were free that I was reading like advent of the arch mage became premium so that doesn't do it. Also I'm giving my opinion, I didn't like it so I let a review here and quit, simple as that if you consider that whining you as just retarded as it gets. If you think a service isn't good you complain so why can't I? As I also said I wouldn't mind if they were paid but they have to present themselves as such, also they should say wich novels they are planning to put premium a lot before so at least I can stop myself to begin reading them

Belbute Do you remember how many total chapters you purchased of that? I mean in total for that novel.

bachingchung Problem is, once you start paying for a few dozen chapters, even if you want to go back to a regular speed later, you have to wait weeks or even months to find a free chapter. I agree though, reading four or five chapters a day can be sustained with the free stones.
